┗━━━━━ ★ ━━━━━┛HORMONAL AND BIPOLAR WAS how Wanda and James described an average teen in high school. Truthfully the two were having second thoughts about attending that field trip. But it was already too late to back down since they had promised Peter they'd show up.
"Do we have to show up? We could just say our car broke down." James huffs
Wanda narrowed her eyes. "It was your idea, Jay. I say let's just see how this goes."
"Whatever, let's go." James before stepping out of the car and closing the door.
The man then walked to Wanda's side and opened the door for her before the two made their way inside the building. Reporters crowded all around Peter as he just entered. The crowd is speaking indistinctly. Peter backs away, putting a hand up, so they could stay back. James and Wanda both watch with an amused expression.
"Okay, one question at a time," Peter begs before pointing to a woman.
"Are you the head Avenger? Are you the head Avenger now?"
Peter shook his head. "Uh, no I'm not."
He then points to another woman, who leans over the crowd of reporters.
"If the aliens come back, what are you gonna do?"
Peter looks around sighing. "Does anyone have any neighborhood questions?"
Everyone starts asking desperately. He leans in for a man to ask a question, hoping it's a neighborhood question.
"Sean Wilford, Queens Tribune." Sean the reporter starts. "What is it like to take over from Tony Stark? Those are some big shoes to fill."
His question seems to echoes Peter's mind. Everyone's still asking questions as he has time to think of his answer. He started to have anxiety and feels like he is about to pass out.
Peter panicked. "I'm uh-- I'm going to go. Thanks so much, everyone, for coming." with that, he ran out of the room.
"Go to talk to him," Wanda whispers.
James sighed. "Wait for me in the car. We'll be in there soon."
Wanda nods.
With that, the two split up. James notices Peter who jumps up to the roof, to only find himself on top, looking out onto the city. Peter's mask fades off and he breathes deeply as a large train passes by. A cellphone buzzes in his backpack and he reaches to get it. He never answers and the buzzing stops as he looks back into the city. He turns to his left to see a painting of Iron-Man coming right at him. He blinks as he turns away, feeling the pain and sorrow as he thinks about his long-lost friend.
