AFTER AYO MADE HER appearance things got intensely awkward. James was able to feel the tension building up. But he couldn't lie, it felt good to see her again. But besides that, she seemed more than ever disappointed and pissed at the two men standing in front of her.
James clears his throat. "So... how have you been, pal?"
Ayo glances at James. "How could you free him?"
"We need his help."
"With time, will, and the resources, the Winter Soldier programming was removed from you like a rotten fur," Ayo says glancing at Bucky.
Bucky nods. "And I'm grateful for that. I'm grateful for everything you and Shuri have done—"
"Zemo murdered our King T'Chaka at the U.N." Ayo spat. "The man who chose us. Who chose me to protect him."
"We understand," James says softly.
"Very little, If anything, of our loss and our shame."
James inhales deeply. "He's a means to an end. I swear to you, we wouldn't release him without a good cause."
Ayo nods. "Eight hours, Cap. Then we come for him. Do you understand, white wolf?" she asks, glancing between the two men.
James and Bucky both nod and they watched as she walked away from the two.
"They'll kill him," James says, walking back towards the others. "We've got to get what we need out of him before they come."
Bucky sighs. "I know. We've got to make this as quick as possible."
With that, the two men walk inside the building.
"Not to scare you all, but the Wakandans are here. They want Zemo." James says walking into the room and sitting next to Wanda. "Buck over here bought us more time."
Wanda glances at him. "Were you followed?"
Bucky shook his head. "We weren't."
"How can you be so sure?" Zemo huffs.
James scoffs. " 'Cause I know when I'm being followed."
Zemo hums. "It was sweet of you two to defend me at least."
