"Why did you do that?" Trent whispered down at me. I looked up from my e-scooter, for when I looked forward, all I saw was Trent's giant hand blocking my path.

"Can you please move your hand, I need to get to class," I asked Trent.

"Ohhh!!!! What a burn! Seriously the most bada5s human ever!" Logan exclaimed excitedly.

Trent sighed before moving his hand so I could enter the elevator.

OMG... how has it only been one period.

______________________________________________________________________

Aside from being late to my second period, the rest of the first half of my day was pretty boring. For my second period, I had a human teacher. That was pretty odd to see our teacher with a little microphone standing on a stage-like pedestal for mathematics.

One thing became super clear as I went from class to class... This co-ed school was nowhere near a 50/50 split when it came to the human v. giant population. It was basically a giant school with a couple humans in each class. I didn't realize it at first, because in the human halls, it's all grade levels of humans mixed in one trying to get to the elevators, so it's quite cramped. But the reality of my classes is there's a maximum of 6 humans in each class. I'll tell you one thing... There's more than 6 giants in each class.

So, like I was saying, the first half of my day I really just kept to myself and focused on whatever the teacher was trying to get us to "learn" on this first day.

Keeping to myself was easy... until lunch.Lunch was the section of the day that I was dreading the most. Not because I didn't pack a super delicious lunch, but because it was the first day and I didn't have a group to sit with yet.

Our welcome packets had explained that the lunch room was divided into sections for safety. So, there was a human only section, a giant only section, and then, in the middle, was a 'co-ed' section. The co-ed section consisted of 'Wendleton high school blue' giant sized lunch tables that had human lunch tables sat on top. If humans wanted to access these tables there was a button in any elevator that would take you through a zig-zag-like route to get to the top of the table.

I looked over at the co-ed section, and it was empty. No huge surprise there I suppose.

Next, I looked over at the human tables and searched for an empty space.

"Morgan! Over here!!" Shouted a human voice I didn't immediately recognize. Looking to my right, toward the direction of where that voice came from, I saw the delectably cute Aaron I'd met when I first entered school, gesturing for me to join him.Aaron was sat at a lunch table of very 'Earthy' humans.

Earthy humans are humans here on New Earth that dress in clothes similar to those of Earth... Or at least what we're told people wear on Earth. My mom used to tell me since traveling from Earth to New Earth takes years, it also takes a while for news from Earth to arrive on New Earth, and vice versa. My mom had explained that on Earth, space expeditions became possible in the 1960s. Many of the people who branched out into large communities on other planets were coming from earth in the 1960s and 70s. Yes, New Earth had been founded earlier than that, but only by 'top secret scientist'. It wasn't knowledge to citizens of Earth until later... So all this being said, 'earthy humans' dress in clothes similar to the 1960's and 70s. They wear things like bell bottom jeans, big hair, peace signs, bright patterned fabrics, etc.

Joe used to chime in when Mom would talk about Earth. When Joe met my mom he said she was the earthiest human he'd ever encountered. I smiled at the memory before snapping back to reality where I had made my way over to Aaron's table.
