Dearest Lilith,
I believe it is high time I told you more of your father, though I hope you never come into contact with him. His first name is John, but I won't tell you his last name yet in case you wish to search him out. As I wrote previously, John worked for an evil organization called HYDRA, which is widely believed to have been defeated back in the 1940s with Captain America. But, as you can likely guess, HYDRA is still operating, or at least it was at the time of this letter.
I wrongly believed your father was a good man, gentle, kind, intelligent, but no. John and HYDRA are stopping at nothing to get to me, to you. You, my dear daughter, are destined for greatness. I can feel it. I'm hesitant in writing this as anyone can access these letters, and if you fall into the wrong hands, you may be treated as less than human. You see, I have these powers. I've had them since I was a girl. Clairvoyance and the ability to control fire are the main two. I was experimented on as a child by an organization now extinct. Their experiments awakened my powers. I was training with my Clairvoyance when I met your father. He believed my gifts to be extraordinary. He called me his wondrous beauty.
But, alas, all good things come to an end. When I was nearly 2 months pregnant with you, I felt my powers draining, leaving me nearly defenseless against HYDRA, leading to my downfall. I hope that my powers shifted to you, making you very powerful.
I love you, my darling, never forget that. I may be gone, but I'll always be with you.
With all my heart,
Your mother, Erica Lilith Williams
A/N: I'm so so very sorry for my absence; I've been having to write a research paper for school and haven't had the time to work on this book (plus I had some serious writer's block and couldn't remember how to write creatively). I hope you enjoy this chapter! I'm sorry it's so short, but I should be able to release another chapter on Monday (I've got a long weekend)! Anywho, thank you so much for 1.42k reads and all the votes and comments and for adding it to your reading lists!! I know I say this every time, but it really does mean so much to me! Love y'all :) <3
