"Rosemary," it was dad with my wake-up call, "Time to get up."

"No."

"Yep, let's go. I know you don't want to sleep in."

I lift my head, "you're right, I don't. I'll get up. Just get out so I can get changed."

"I'm already gone," he lightly jogged from the room as I laughed, "you're in the security room today."

"Crap. I hate the people who work in the security room."

~~~
After getting dressed, I headed to the security room, and dad was already on his way there. "Hey," I greeted him, "What's happening?"
"I have no idea," he said as we entered the Security Room, "What the hell was that?"
"I don't know, sir," responded one of the techies, Agent Cooper, looking nervous, "We just got massive energy reading out of nowhere, then they just disappeared. Fifteen miles due northwest."
"Let's go take a look."
"Yay," I giggled, "field trip!"
We all hopped in the cars and took off, ready for whatever was out there. The drive wasn't super long, but it was boring. No one was as excited about the field trip as I was. I don't think that they understood how exciting this was. We had been tracking these energy readings for a while, and they paused after Thor arrived. These energy bursts could be the way that Thor got here.
"Get somebody from Linguistics down here," after we arrived, dad got straight to work examining the scene. The burnt pattern was intricate, "Rosemary, can you get anything from it?"
I kneeled and touched the surface gently. When I made contact, I had this magnet pulling me back towards the town. I shook my head, "no, only that it's fresh. I'll go check the town, see if anyone knows anything."
"Sure. Make sure you call in anything suspicious."
"Yes, sir," and with that, I jogged into town, following the pull of the magnet.
The jog was short, and it led me to a group of four people, one woman and three men, who looked totally out of place in their renaissance-style battle armor.
"Um," I called out to them, "Excuse me?"
The woman turned around, "Yes, what is it?"
"I-uh well, I was wondering what y'all we're doing around here in those funny outfits?"
The group looked offended, "Our 'outfits' are designed for fighting the most powerful of enemies if you must know. As for what we are doing, well maybe you could help us. We are looking for our friend, Thor. His brother has done some horrible things since he was banished from Asgard, and we need him back so he can resume the throne."
I checked in on my tracker and found that Thor wasn't too far from here, so I decided to help, "I'm not supposed to do this because it's against protocol, but I can take you to him."
"Really," said the man with a large beard, "oh, thank you, dear Midgardian," he hugged me tightly, "thank you very much! I am Volstagg, this is the Lady Sif to my left, to her left is Fandral," Fandral reached out and kissed the top of my hand, "and to my right is Hogun. We are Lady Sif and the Warriors Three."
"Pleasure to meet you, Volstagg, Lady Sig, Fandral, and Hogun. I am Agent Rosemary Margaret Coulson of S.H.I.E.L.D."
"What is S.H.I.E.L.D," asked Fandral.
"It is a global government agency that works to keep the world safe from itself and outer-worldly threats."
"Wait, Rosemary, I have heard that name before," Hogun seemed puzzled; he turned to Lady Sif, "isn't that who Heimdall spoke about frequently?"
"Yes," said Lady Sif, "I believe it is."
"I'm sorry, I figured out what Midgard means, but who is Heimdall?"
"He is the all-seer of Asgard. Heimdall sees, hears, and knows all," spoke Lady Sif.
"I see," I paused, soaking in the new information, "well, if you'll all just follow me, Thor's this way."
Once we reached the building where Thor was, I stood to the side and gestured for them to look inside. I turned away to survey the area, and when I turned back, the four had their faces pressed up against the glass. I sighed.
Volstagg knocked on the door and called out to Thor, "Found you."
They were all waving and smiling and having a wonderful time. Thor looked shocked but happy to see his friends, whereas Doctor Selvig, Jane, and Darcy froze in slight terror (Doctor Selvig even dropped his glass). After they entered, Thor ran over to them for hugs and greetings.
"Oh, excuse me," Volstagg spoke again, "Lady Sir and the Warriors Three...and the very honorable Rosemary Margaret Coulson of S.H.I.E.L.D., whom we have to thank for leading us to you!"
I was subsequently glared at by Jane, Doctor Selvig, and Darcy (if you didn't know, S.H.I.E.L.D. took away all their equipment).
"My friends," he said, his mood dropping slightly, "I have never been happier to see anyone. But you should not have come."
Fandral was confused, "We're here to take you home," he said.
"You know I can't go home," Thor sighed, "My father is dead because of me. I must remain in exile."
I'll admit, I felt bad for the man, but what Lady Sif said next had me rolling.
"Thor, your father still lives."
