My dear Lilith,
I do hope you are finding your way in the world easily. I recently got a glimpse of the future, your future. It will do you no good without context, so I might as well tell you. I saw you in the middle of this temporary setup with a man who you referred to as "dad." He is not your birth father, but I'm sure you already knew that. This man seemed very nice but exhausted like his work was above his pay grade, but he was more than happy to be doing it. And you, you looked wonderful, grown, confident, everything I could ever ask for in a daughter and more. In front of the two of you, there was this large, boxy hammer-type thing. The man said, "Lots of people have tried to lift this, kid. What makes you think you'll be any different. I'm not trying to crush your spirit, just making sure you don't get too far ahead of yourself."
You replied, "I don't know. I just have this feeling that I can do it." You reached out, and you grabbed the hammer, Lilith. You lifted it. I know this may not be much right now, but I feel like it will have some great impact on your life. The hammer may be a metaphor for the challenges you will face in life, though, and how you should face them head-on and do what your heart is telling you, rather than waiting for instructions. Whatever the reason is, I'm proud of you. It seems like an incredible feat, and I'm happy I'll get to watch it in real-time after my death. I just hope I don't have to wait too long.
My heart aches each and every day knowing that I'll never get to see you grow in person. These visions ease the pain, so I'm grateful for them.
Your father, John, I've seen him seeking you out. He knows not who you are but where you are. I'm not sure how, but he does. Please, if you're reading this on the intended date, June 1st, 2011, please be safe. He's looking for you.
I must rest now, my darling, but my next letter won't be too far behind this one.
With all my heart,
Your Mother.
