Enough blood for two... Enough blood for two... Enough blood for two... The words rolled around in her head. She lay on her back, crumpled tissues surrounding her. Tears covered her face and dampened. Her eyes locked on the ceiling as those four words chugged through her mind.
Enough blood for two... Enough blood for two... Enough blood for two...

She was sweating and bright red, she breathed heavily at a fast rate as if running. She clenched her sheets either side of her.

She screamed.

The world around her swirled and contorted, making her feel sick to her stomach. Sweat poured across her forehead.
Enough blood for two! Enough blood for two! Enough blood for two! The word seemed like they were being screamed into her ear like a furious chant.

Her vision quickly clouded as the world spun and her now damp hair stuck to her forehead.

She screamed again.

It filled the tense air as Hannah pulled up her car with an anxious Duncan. She gave him a confused look but they shrugged it off. It sounded distant. He thrust open the car door and excitedly knocked on her door.

"Can I come with?" Hannah smiled, sticking her head out the door.

"Um... I'd rather I talk to Kim alone." He half smiled, turning back to the door as Hannah drove off.

He knocked again.

"Kim?" He called confused. Her living room and landing lights were on.
She must be in then. He thought, dumbfounded.

"Kim? It's me Duncan." He yelled, knocking again.

Suddenly, a scream shattered through the air, piercing Duncan's skull.
That's Kim! He thought, alerted.

Adrenaline soared through him, Kim was in trouble.

"I'm coming Kim!"

He took a few steps back, rolling up his plaid sleeves. He rammed himself into the door, pain shot through his shoulder as the door shook.

"Agh!" He cried, his eyes watering.

He did it again, ignoring the pain.

"Shit! Oh my fuck wait!" He reached beneath the doormat, tossing it aside. A sliver, spare key glinted on her doorstep.

"Yes!" He yelled, fumbling it between his fingers and desperately unlocking the door. He swung it open, quickly slamming it shut behind him.

"Kim?!" He strained his voice, dashing up the staircase, almost tripping on each step.

"Kim?!" Duncan yelled again, he charged through the hallway, slamming open every door desperately.

She screamed again, almost managing to say his name in fear.

He swung open her bedroom door to see her a screaming, panicing, tear covered mess.

"Duncan!" She screeched, closing her eyes tightly and grasping her duvet.

Immediately, she tried to move but fell to the floor with a thump and cry of pain.

He ran over to her, sitting her back up in his lap.

She screamed again.

He wrapped his arms around her dainty body as she sobbed endlessly into his chest, punching his chest weakly from anger.

"It's okay Kim! It's okay!" Duncan cried, stroking her hair out of her eyes. "It's over."

He rocked her back and fourth, keeping a strong grip on her.

"I'm here now. It's okay." He soothed, forcing a smile as she slowly looked up at him.

"I... I don't know what happened." She sniffled, putting her arms around him and wiping her tears in his shirt.

"You had a panic attack. It's okay. I'm here now." He smiled.

Kim drew deep breaths, Duncan still holding her protectively.

Kim sat in Duncan's lap as he held her and rocked back and fourth, for the rest of the night.
