Hannah dabbed his forehead with a damp cloth she found in the kitchen, a bottle of cold, crisp water near by. After Lewis had fainted, Hannah had heaved his legs onto their bed to and cared intensively for him. She frowned, he had been out cold for longer than expected, not that she could have expected that.
Without warning, Lewis' eyes screwed up slightly, his hands twitching. He opened his mouth slowly to yawn and opened his eyes, regaining his vision.
"Lew?" Hannah smiled softly, aiding him to sit up againt the pillows.
"Ha... Hannah? Wait... I'm on the bed."
"Yeah... so?"
"Hannah you didn't lift me onto the bed did you?! Oh Hannah! You've got to be careful now! You've got a little human inside you!" Lewis screeched, leaning forward with a panicked expression.
Hannah laughed slightly and smiled to herself.
Lewis was almost angry at Hannah's response, he wanted to make her feel not alot but just slightly guilty about it. Of course though, it was Hannah. "Don't worry about me love, I was worried about you! I mean I know it was a pregnancy test but I didn't expect you to react like that!" She chuckled.
Lewis' serious and panicked expression stayed frozen on his face, his jaw still dropped.
Hannah smiled, clambering onto the bed and lying next to him. She squinted as a slight, short-lived pain shot through her abdomen, alerting Lewis.
"Hannah oh my gosh be careful! You don't know what will hurt you and them or-"
"Here." Hannah grasped his shaking hand, smiling and making him stop talking, speechless. She placed his hand on her warm stomach, still holding his.
Lewis' face smoothed out into a calm smile and his eyes, oh his eyes. They had a new light, full of hope and joy.
"Oh my." Lewis chuckled, feeling a weak thump against Hannah's skin and his hand.
Hannah turned to him, his face not flinching from his speechless yet joyful expression.
She smiled. "Four months."
"What?"
"Four months. The baby."
"Oh... wait hold on, how long have you known?!" His eyes widened.
She paused, swallowing hard. "Umm... One?"
"I know that's not four but a whole month! And you didn't even tell me?"
Hannah could tell Lewis was beginning to get almost angry, but mostly gobsmacked.
I can read him like a book. She thought, sighing.
"I just... The whole Kim thing and Charlie, it just didn't feel right to divert the attention."
Lewis sighed deeply, shaking his head slowly. He leaned over to her and kissed her forehead, half-smiling.
"Oh Hannah, my selfless little girl."
Gradually, he pulled up the bottom half of Hannah's shirt just enough for her stomach to be revealed and planted a kiss right in the center.
"This time, we're going to raise 'em right."
