"Hey Lewis."

"Hey Duncan! Come in! Hannah's popped round the shops, she'll be back in a bit." Lewis cheered, showing him in. Lewis' apartment was filthy, there were empty pizza boxs on the table, crisp wrappers on the sofa and cans of larger scattered around.

"What the 'ell happened here?!" Duncan joked, a confused look on his face. Lewis chuckled.

"The girls had some fun last night, that's what happened. Hannah, Kim, Minty and Zoey! I'm glad Zoey had the courage to go to their little girls night, it's good seeing her build up her confidence." Lewis smiled, placing a can on a cup mat. Duncan nodded in gratitude.

"Yeah, I miss seeing Zoey, ever since she moved in with Fiona, which is amazing for them don't get me wrong, she has hardly been hanging out with us."

"Yeah... anyway, what's up?" He sipped a larger and leant back, comfortably.

"I wanted to ask about what's... bothering you."

Lewis sat straight up, glugging a large portion of his can. He flushed red.

"Umm... I should be asking you the same question Duncan!"

Duncan froze.
Fuck. I should just tell him. He's been in this situation before with Hannah and that Milly girl.

"Well... there's no point in hiding it. I think I've fallen for Kim."

At that moment, Hannah creaked open the door lugging four shopping bags.

"Little help lads?" She smiled, putting her arms out. They stood to their feet and each carried a bag or two to the kitchen.

"Thanks. And, what's this about Kim? I didn't hear the rest."

"You nosey little girl!" Lewis joked, pulling Hannah closer and messing up her hair.

"Well, uh, I wanted to talk to just Lewis. Sorry Hannah, guy stuff."

"Ah. I guess I can... go record some Evicted? That'll give you plenty of time. See you later Dunc! Bye Lew!" Lewis kissed her on the forehead and she waved to them both. They sat back down, this time Lewis sat next to Duncan.

Silence fell on the room.

"Well, it was obvious." Lewis muttered, smiling a crooked smile. Duncan smiled, but his smile was broken.

"Oh yeah, Charlie."

"Yeah. Nine years. Nine fucking years." Duncan looked down at his lap, rubbing his forehead.

"Look, I know this situation is tough. I had the same thing with Milly and Hannah, years ago. But, it was a situation that had to happen, if it didn't, Hannah would be somewhere else with someone else's heart." Lewis winced at the thought.

"Okay. I'll go talk to Charlie, see how she takes it. Wait, you could come with me? I don't want her to be violent aga-"

"Again? Charlie's been violent to you?!"

"No, no! She was never violent, I mean, no!" Duncan shouted, trying to shake off Lewis' worries. "I'm going to text her. Okay?"
Hey Charlie, I'll be back round later, Lewis wants to say hi too. Is that okay? I need to tell you something, I'm sorry in advance xx -D

Anxious, he shoved his phone in his pocket, he didn't want to see her reply.
