"Martyn?" Kaeyi called, her voice sweet.
He charged down the stairs, almost tripping and the last one.
"Is something wrong?" He breathed concerned, catching his breath. He looked up to see Kaeyi smiling intensely and childishly.
I love her smile. He thought, straitening himself.
"Guess what stinky?" She cheered, jumping up and down excitedly.
"What?"
"We got the house!"
"Oh my gosh stinky!" Martyn yelled, burying her in his arms, grinning happily.
"Look! Even the kitties are excited! " She giggled, pointing behind him.
Gradually they calmed down, still holding eachother.
"I get to spend my life with you stinky." Kaeyi smiled, her round eyes gazing into Martyn's. He kissed her lovingly, smiling back. However, it felt strange, unnatural almost. He pulled away leaving Kaeyi to linger, dumbfounded.
"Is anything wrong?" She asked, swaying his hands from side to side.
I haven't kissed her since that snooker game with Sam and Kim... This kiss felt weird. The one with Kim felt... Better...
He thought, immediately shaking the thought out of his head.
Nah, I was just caught up in the moment, right?
"Martyn?"Kaeyi whispered, stirring him out of his train of thought.
"Ye-yeah?" He looked back to his concerned girlfriend.
"You looked kinda... distant."
Silence fell on the room as the two kept their gaze on eachother's, their hands still clutching the other's.
"No, I'm just uh, overwhelmed about this. The big move. I got caught up in the moment." He smiled fakely, swaying her hands.
He gently pulled her in for another hug as they grinned and held eachother closely.
A new beginning. With the love of my life... I think.
