Chapter 21

" But commander, if Eren is refusing to speak don't you think the two of us,  who have been friends since his childhood might be of use in inciting him to speak, maybe, Emma can. They were so close when we were children. I can't be for sure that we'll be able to confirm his true intentions, but there's no harm in letting us try! " Armin was clenching his hand, Mikasa was sweating in her spot. Cheif Darius Zackly had crossed his fingers together and held his head up with his crossed fingers. " We must be extremely careful in the current situation. That concludes our meeting. "

Armin and Mikasa had gasped, they stood outside the door with mouths left agape. " Why? " Armin had scrunched his nose, Darius Zackly hadn't given them any chance, and the crowd outside the fence was beginning to yell even louder than before. The two had walked past a group of Military Police. " It seems like that the military has already given up on Eren. " The two had stopped, glancing at one another then at the group of military police officers heading into Darius Zackly's office. " I'm going to go listen in on what they're talking about in there. " Mikasa had blinked, she turned towards the doorway her eyebrows furrowing. Suddenly a loud blast had shot from inside the office of Cheif Darius Zackly. Mikasa's arms wrapped around Armin, the two yelling as they fell back. The explosion had shot through the glass of the building, many of the officers outside, including Hitch had gasped as a body shot through the window, falling down onto the stone floor. The body had splattered on the floor, the crowd outside gasp as the officers had covered their eyes at the impact. A loud scream echoed off Hitch as Chief Darius Zackly had been discovered blown to bits, his torso and head were the only things in view, his lower half was nowhere to be seen from eyes view.  

Meanwhile 

Emma had stood in their kitchen making lunch for the twins who were looking through the pictures of a book. She smiled, looking out the window of their home. She smiled, the sun was slowly setting as she prepared the sandwiches for the children. A loud knock had echoed in the house against the wooden door. She hadn't been expecting anyone and tilted her head, she had tilted her head and left the food on a plate. Suddenly the door burst open without any contact, she was almost sure she had locked the door. She had run to the living room as loud screams had echoed in the house. She had run into the living room, large hands had wrapped around her arms and completely immobilized her. " Floch what the hell are you doing! " She yelled, her children, Isabel and Farlan were struggling in the arms of Floch and another soldier she had failed to notice. " Mommy! " Isabel was crying with tears running down her eyes. " Let them go! Let them go! " Emma was tugging on her arms, other soldiers had flooded the home, holding guns and breaking things. A hiss rang from her mouth as the rope was tied around her arms tightly. " Let's go. " 

Back to the scouts

After the death of Darius Zackly, a meeting was held between the three military groups, the Garrison, the Military Police, and the scouts. " It seems the explosive was planted in the commander Cheif Zackly's " Custom made chair. " Four soldiers including the commander in chief were killed in the attack. " Armin had scrunched his nose, holding his arms behind his back and standing tall. " The identity of the killer and their intentions are currently not known. "

" Besides Onyankopon who was with me all day the rest of the volunteer soldiers were under house arrest. " Armin had placed his finger on his chin and hummed. " That chair, the commander in chief said that the new recruits carried that chair to his office. Nile Dawk had furrowed his eyebrow in confusion. " What new recruits? " Armin had glanced at Mikasa wh had done the same. " The commander in chief did not say which new recruits but just before Mikasa and I visited the commander in chief's office we saw some rushing to get away from HQ. They were from the Survey Corps. " 

" Speaking of the Survey Corps, I heard that there were a few who leaked the information regarding Eren to the public and were subsequently placed in custody. You don't think that... " Suddenly a solder had burst through the closed door. " There's an emergency! Eren Yeager has escaped the underground prison! And there's more! Emma, Isabel, and Farlan Ackerman have gone missing! " 

Meanwhile 

Eren Yeager was walking barefoot through the field. He stared blankly as he neared the group of Yeagerist that were waiting for his arrival. Emma was grunting and tugging against the hold of the soldiers holding her back. Her children were busy hitting the legs of their kidnappers, though they didn't do much since they were so young. " There's more of you than I expected. " Emma had gasped, eyes wide as her twin brother had appeared. She scrunched her nose, growling at the tight rope around her wrist that was beginning to dig into her skin. " You're behind this Eren? " Emma had yelled in fright, there was nothing more she hated than the sight of this Eren. This Eren wasn't her Eren and she hated it. " Mommy! " Farlan whimpered, his eyes watered and he lightly tugged at the arms of the Yeagerists. Eren had looked down at the child, Farlan had stared up at his uncle with interest. Eren had glanced at Emma, she frowned, she lowered her head. " Eren this is Farlan and Isabel, your niece and nephew. " She had whispered under her breath, her body no longer tugging on the rope and going limp in the hold of their kidnappers.
