" You're saying we have to gun down a bunch of our friends to save the world? That's so messed up! " Emma hugged herself, she shifted uncomfortably in her spot. Her eyes fell, she felt nothing at that very moment, she nearly had nothing at that very moment. " Would you rather have the burden of the population's life on us for the rest of our lives? " 

" None of you need to join this battle. Stick with Gabi and Falco, and stay at a safe distance to observe. You'll have to defend yourself if the Yeagrists spot you, so be prepared, but for now, just stay out of it. " Emma let her eyes flutter, she gulped and her body ran cold. " And stand back to watch you guys kill each other? "Hanije and General Magath slid down from the mountain they observed the enemies on. " Hey! Stop you're gonna break her arm! " Emma ran towards Magath, grabbing his arm to pull him off, Yelena. To say Yelena didn't deserve it was an understatement, that didn't mean it should happen. She grew a hatred for her but they didn't need to tear each other apart in the midst, maybe that was the little humanity she had left in herself. Doing so he yanked his arm from her, nearly shoving her back where her back hit the ground. " Hey! " Jean ran to her side immediately. " Stop it! "Magath clicked his tongue, letting go of Yelena who already had a bruised mouth forming. Alongside the bruises on her cheek where Emma previously hit her. 

" I've changed my mind. Now that you've caught me up in this, I don't want to die without knowing how it ends. If we survive, and you take me with you, I might tell you where to find Eren. " A lone tear fell down her cheek. " Securing that boat is priority one. "

" Yeah, torturing her isn't gonna do us any good now. "

Magath's eyes fell. " Forgive me all of you, I was a fool. I'm sorry for my behavior last night. We were never in the right. I'd deluded myself into thinking we were the good guys. I wanted to believe the evil I've done was justified as a part of some great cause, but in the end. That's not true. I'd attempt to ignore the fact that Marley's soul has grown rotten as I didn't want to consider what that said about me. This war isn't your fault. You shouldn't be punished for the sins of people you never knew simply because their blood flows in your veins. Pieck, Annie, Reiner. You've been shouldering the burner of humanity's hatred since you were born. It's inexcusable. But still, senseless as our bloodstained history may be, we have a duty to pass it on, so the generations after us can do better.
