Chapter 22

" Any place that employs Marleyans that were under Yelena's protection needs to be investigated. For example, that restaurant. "  Hanije had led some of the scouts towards the restaurant that housed the famous chef Nicolo. 

" Ah, they're right on time. " Right at the very moment, Gabi and Falco, as well as the family that had given them shelter, had entered the restaurant, each one of them closed fabulously. Gabi and Falco were both on edge about their hopes of escaping the land that housed the devils. " Mr. Blouse, welcome to our humble establishment. You seem to have brought a lively bunch with you. " The children had all smiled happily and ran forward the greet the chef. " Thank you for inviting me, I thought it would be a good opportunity to bring my family along with me for the meal because as you know we'll be dining free of charge. I hope it's no trouble. "

" Mr. Blouse is not a soldier, why did they invite him here? " Gabi had asked, Kaya had turned her head. " Didn't I tell you? The girl I told you about was Mr. Blouse's daughter, she was a soldier. Nicolo came to the funeral service. He asked Mr. Blouse if he would do him the honor of eating the food he would normally prepare for his daughter. " Gabi and Falco had both felt a cold shutter. " Huh? " Their eyes widened in shock. " But I think they were a couple, him and her. " 

The family had sat down and been quickly served they prepared for the evening. They were too busy to notice the group of soldiers that had entered the premises. 

Commander Hanije and her comrades had followed alongside her as they entered the famous restaurant. While preparing the main course Nicolo had noticed the familiar soldiers. " It's you, what are you doing here at this kind of hour. I'm busy with some very important customers right now. " Hanije just laughed awkwardly and adjusted her eyepatch. " Of course you can get back to work, but afterward there's something we want to have a chat with you about. " Hanije had shuffled on the heels of her feet, the rest of the soldiers behind them glancing at one another, worried for the few that had gone missing. " A chat? About what? "

" You know, like concerns. We are asking around about it, please cooperate. " Onyankopon had said, one of the few that had taken the Survey Corps side. One of the only people really. Nicolo had led the few into an enclosed room, he smiled. " Please wait here. " Nicolo went to turn his back. " This room is where the military police get to sit, isn't it? " Nicolo listened carefully. " Mh is this? The word spread around the military ranks about this wine. I heard only the top brass gets to drink this one. " Nicolo widened his eyes. " What? No fair, we're officers in the Survey Corps, aren't we? "

" Yeah, we should get to drink some of this good stuff. Even if just a bit... " Nicolo had quickly tuned his back, snatching the wine from jean who stepped back with his hands up, surrendering. " T-this is a splendid wine we can't waste on the likes of eldians like you. " Conny and Jean both sweatdropped. " What are you saying Nicolo, whether or not you can get a drink should have nothing to do with your race. " Jean growled, he gripped Nicolo's shirt causing the male to squirm in fright and begin to sweat at the angry soldier. " D-don't touch me Eldian! Stop acting like w-were friends or something, you're being too familiar. " Jean let him go, tilting his head up and scoffing. " Yeah why, who do you think you are? You're nothing but a-"

" A lowly Marleyan prisoner of war? Is that what you were going to say? Now, who's being racist Eldian? " Jean shrunk back, Nicolo seemed satisfied with the result and clutched the wine bottle to his chest. Opening the door and exiting, leaving the Survey Corps members behind. 

Gabi and Falco were waiting for the chef and upon the sight of him, the two made their plan of escape. " Ugh, my stomach hurts! Maybe it'll help if I go to the toilet! " Falco had faked a stomach ache, shooting up from his chair and sprinting away. Gabi shot up as well and ran after him. " Maybe I can help you out brother, I'll come with you! " The two disappeared from the family, quickly finding the cellar a distressed Nicolo hid in. " This isn't the bathroom you know? " He mumbles tiredly under his breath.
" We don't really need the toilet, Mr. Nicolo. "
" The two of us came from Marley. "
" We're honorary Marley Warrior Candidates. " 
The two sounded hopeful but shrunk back at the gaze of the Marleyan. " What? " It was demanding and had the two shiver. They stepped back. " The island is about to be attacked by armies all around the world. Until then please help us survive, and please let all the Marleyan's know that help is coming. "

" Wait a second. How did you two end up here? "

" About one month ago the Rebellio district suffered a surprise attack by the devils of the island! It might be hard to believe we were able to get on the enemy aircraft while they were retreating and were taken all the way to the island. " He gasped, holding onto the wooden shelf behind him for leverage. His knees buckled and bile filled in his throat. " Did you kill anyone? A soldier woman? " 

Gabi seemed pleased and smiled. " Yeah, I shot one down! We also put down some more devils on our way here. Our revenge for our trampled hometown has only begun! " Meanwhile Falco grabbed onto's Gabi's arm. He noticed the tense atmosphere. " Hey, Gabi. " Falco said. 

" You're the one that killed her.... "

" What is it? " Gabi turned her shoulder and looked at her friend. " You're the one that killed Sasha! " He gripped the wine bottle from behind him, yelling angrily. He raised it down though Falco had hugged his friend and dived to the side, taking the bottle in the head. Thick red blood painted the floor and Gabi yelled in fear. " Falco! " 

Nicolo had grabbed the two children and tossed Gabi onto the floor in front of the family. " Nicolo, what are you doing to Ben and Mia! " Mr. Braus stood up, the children watching in fear. " She is the one that killed Sasha, she is the one that took away your daughter's life. "

I'm backkkk.
For a while, I felt as If I should just delete the story. Start something new or even give up writing. I felt so unhappy with everything that I felt as if giving up was the best thing for me but I soon felt as if I'd let everyone down. So here we go. I'm back and here with chapters. I've been thinking of doing a face review or even starting a tik tok for my page. Maybe I'll post upcoming chapter ideas or even just anything to do with my books in general.
