Chapter Eight: Reinstating Control

Zombie Rob and Ramone were suddenly pulled by some type of force towards the mystery man at the end of the alleyway. When Zombie Rob looked down, he noted that they weren't being pulled, but the ground beneath them disappeared! When they came down the alleyway, they were hit in the face with a human fist from a man who was in his late thirties, but had grey hair on the sides of his head. The top of his head had black hair but it was covered in a policeman's helmet. Something that threw off this man's look was a couple lines over his face that formed an hourglass. "Alright buster: attacking a kid, trespassing on private property and attempted assault. Ya got anything else?" Zombie Rob tries to use Smashed Pumpkins on him but the officer revealed it had a Stand with a glowing blue hand. "OOoh. Big scary monster. C'mon, I saw a guy with a cat Stand. Try to be scary at least." Smashed Pumpkins charged towards the man's Stand, simply to suddenly lose a part of its body. Zombie Rob looked down at himself and noticed his arms, chest and leg were suddenly distorted and shortened. In pain, Zombie Rob suddenly cried out in pain while feeling his body distorting quickly and violently. He then crashed into a trash can and tried to get back up only to get punched with the Stand's other hand, rendering Zombie Rob unconscious. The same happened to Ramone, with a "frozen-in-shock" look upon her equally distorted face. The officer looked at the two of them and said into his radio, "This is Officer Nijimura. Yeah, I've got a couple punks tryin' to beat up a kid. The kid ran away, but I've got the aggressors. Looks like the kid got a few good hits in."

Many blocks away, Josui kept running and ran into her father without warning. Josuke smiled and hugged his son, "Oh my God, I'm so sorry. I shouldn't have left you. Are you all right? Oh God, I'm so sorry." Wiping the tears out of her eyes, Josui smiled and said, "Dad, it's okay. Someone saved me. I... don't know who, but he saved me and he gave me this--" Looking at the bag, Josui was shocked to see her actual clothes were in the bag even though they were in the department store. "But I... These weren't-- Who...?" Josuke put his hand on Josui's shoulder and said, "Josui, that doesn't matter now. More importantly, do you still have the pin?" Pulling the pin out of her jacket pocket, Josui gave it to her father. Josuke examined it and found a metal mark on it which indicated that there was just a piece of something else. "Crazy Diamond!" Josuke's Stand, Crazy Diamond came out and restored what the pin was. Then, small pieces of metal came flying through the air and came together to start forming a handle out of the pin. But then, suddenly, a small hilt and a blade formed, cutting Crazy Diamond's finger. Josuke began to feel a sharp pain in his mind as Josui fell to her knees, almost crying. Mercury Vision slowly came out and punched Crazy Diamond, causing him to drop the blade and float back into Josuke. Panting, Josui looked around and saw hundreds of people holding their heads as if they all felt a giant headache all at once. Then she looked down and saw what the pin was made from. It was a dark gray dagger, shining like the metal of a gun. The part of the pin was embedded in the handle, meaning that whoever made this pin, was aware of whoever would find it, knowing that Josuke would find it and restore it. Josuke pulled off one of his shoes and wrapped it in his sock. Giving it to Josui and then putting his shoe on, Josuke said, "Josui, whatever you do, don't take it out of the sock." Looking at the sock, a single itch resided in the back of Josui's mind and began to grow into a million itches made of a million questions.

What is this dagger?

What did this do to his father's stand?

Why didn't this happen when Josuke picked up the pin?

What the hell just happened?!

They began to walk away with the dagger when suddenly, Josuke's police radio suddenly went off, "All units. All units! We need all available units!" Josuke took a deep and calm breath.  "This is officer Higashikata. Go ahead." Both of their eyes suddenly went as wide much like as if they were at a shuttle launch as they heard the most terrifying sentence said over the radio.
