Chapter Twenty Five: Josuke's Resolve

Josuke grabbed Zeppeli's shoulders and started shaking him, an insane look glaring Zeppeli in his eyes. Zeppeli stared into Josuke's eyes, terrified of what was happening between the two of them in the moment. "Zeppeli, take me to my father's home right now! There's something wrong going on involving my father. Take me to New York!" Josuke shouted. Zeppeli activated Black Parade and the two disappeared from the parking lot with Celine asking Josui, "Jojo, what the hell just happened back there?" Only for Josui to reply, "It was DIO. He called me..." A feeling of fear stuck not just Celine, but also David, who at this point in the journey was the only one to have seen DIO with his own eyes. True, his eyesight wasn't the best at the time because he was partially asleep at the time, but there was nothing that could convince him otherwise that all the fear in his life was nothing more than that of a kind lie while someone like DIO was far worse than anything in his nightmares. In honesty, you can wake up from a nightmare, but an encounter with DIO was nothing pure terror that haunted them all. David set his hand on Josui's shoulder, leading him to a bench, with both of them sitting down trying to take the shock of this all in. Celine followed suite and walked over to her friends, wrapping her arm around them so they wouldn't feel as frightened as they were. Josui's heart was beating incredibly fast but it slowly began to almost go back to a normal speed or what he a normal heartbeat at the time of this. Avicii approached them and knelled down in front of the trio, giving them a microscopic feeling of hope that wasn't much, but it helped. "Children, I know what you are feeling... You see, my Stand, Daft Punk can not just only access memories but it can access the feelings and emotions from that very memories. In the flash drive I gave Josui, he didn't have the memories of someone I remember, but rather the feelings of those memories. Josui, do you have the flash drive?" Josui dug his hand into his pocket and pulled it out with Avicii's eyes glowing with joy and happiness. Daft Punk quickly floated out of his body, using the power of his Stand to put the flash drive into his hand and thus into his mind. Then three flash drives came out of his hand and he gave them all to the trio, who were all more confused with what was happening. Avicii said, "The flash drives will activate when you press the silver part into your wrists. When your father and Zeppeli return, tell them everything that you saw on those drives."

Zeppeli and Josuke arrived at the gate of the Joestar Mansion, Josuke running up to the gate and jumping over as if he was an Olympic athlete. Sighing in disbelief, Zeppeli teleported to the other side of the gate and began to give chase after Josuke who was going faster than ever in his life. Running up to the door, Josuke jumped up and shattered the door with the help of Crazy Diamond, who then fixed the door, leaving Zeppeli trapped outside. He started knocking on the door but then saw a couple of German Shepard chasing him across the very large front yard while Zeppeli ran away screaming. Josuke looked up the stairs and saw his father slowly walking up those same stairs while grunting in pain. "Mr. Joestar!" Josuke shouted waiting for an answer to either confirm his suspicions correct or possibly false. Turning around, the older Joseph Joestar looked at Josuke with very weary eyes that almost could have made him look blind given his age. But then there was a sudden change in his attitude, where he started to act younger, but a bit more terrifying. He began to chuckle in a manner of an old man but that quickly began to change into a voice that sounded younger but sounded like some kind of inhumane monster. Then Joseph's eyes closed and when he opened them, they were horrifyingly different, only confirming Josuke's suspicions and bringing tears to his eyes as he realized that his father was being controlled by DIO. Taking in the fear of Josuke, Joseph slowly stopped laughing as he smiled and licked his lips while eyeing his son's neck. "You... You basta--" Josuke couldn't finish his sentence as he looked back at his father with tears welling in his eyes, "DIO. You've been in control of my father's body this entire time, haven't you?!" DIO's voice replied, "My dear boy, I have no idea what you're talking about. It isn't as if DIO possessed me or anything when he gave me back my blood." Josuke gritted his teeth so hard that it seemed like they all could shatter into pieces, like a pane of glass falling off a roof. Taking in a deep breath, Josuke summoned Crazy Diamond and charged at his own father to save his body along with what was left of his mind. His Stand was about to attack, but then he felt something wrap around his body and as he looked down and saw Joseph's Stand, Hermit Purple grabbing Crazy Diamond. The grip on Crazy Diamond started getting tighter and tighter causing Josuke's body to jump at any and every chance to beat DIO out of his father. "Did you really think that was going to work?" DIO's voice echoed as he threw Josuke across the room and into the library, briefly injuring him. Sara, Josuke's wife ran into the room and saw what happened to her husband and shouted, "Mr. Joestar! What are you doing?!" 

Joseph began breathing very hard and slowly sat down on the stairs, "Sara, stay back! It's Josuke! He's been possessed by something evil!" With having no reason to not trust her husband or Joseph. Josuke ran out into the room and charged at his father again but then almost stopped when he saw his wife. "Sara! Get the hell away from him! DIO has been in control of my father for years! Please! You have to believe me!" Sara was conflicted at this point; she had never seen his father do anything that would arouse suspicion and this had now become a problem of trying to find out who was trying to tell the truth or not. Josuke watched as Sara looked back and forth between the two of them then Sara reached behind her shirt and pulled out a hand gun. "Josuke has told me about Stands. Hermit Purple. Crazy Diamond..." She then pointed the weapon at her head, Josuke's eyes bulging out of his skull and him falling to his knees begging for her to stop. "But if I shoot myself... A Stand would come out to save me, right? In that case..." She swung her arm with the gun to point at Joseph, who shielded himself with a familiar Stand that was not Hermit Purple. The gun still went off as Josuke shouted, "HINA!!" Using Crazy Diamond to jump to the second floor without using the stairs and healed the damage done to his wife's body. Josuke held her body in his arms, blood leaking onto his shirt then reversed back to his wife's body. The bullet slowly pushed itself out of her head and fell to the ground then back into her gun as Josuke cried out, "Come on! I lost grandpa, Mr. Jotaro and little Jolyne but this time, I'm not going to lose you!" Then her eyes opened slowly as she grabbed Josuke's arm and said, "Tell me, what is his Stand!" Josuke looked at Joseph walked up the stairs with DIO's Stand floating behind him, shocking both Sara and Josuke. "Sara, you tricked him. You tricked him into thinking you were going to shoot him causing him to summon The World, but you shot yourself instead." Josuke hugged his wife and kissed her long and hard but then he let go of her, turning towards Joseph and stared at him. "Well, damn. Looks like that cat's out of the bag, Josuke. I hate when that happens. Kind of like a blood transfusion with dirty blood..." This only confired more of Josuke's fears, "So, it is true. You've been in control of my father since when you were killed. Somehow in that time of taking his blood and getting killed, you managed to contaminate it." DIO's voice chuckled, "Who said I was killed?" Josuke rolled his eyes. "Right, I mean getting your puny head blown off. Besides, I've seen what you were wearing at the time of your death, DIO. I've seen tacky outfits, but that head of yours only made the outfit even tackier." Joseph began to grit his teeth, only satisfying Josuke. Zeppeli slowly began to approach the two from behind, armed with a vase to knock him out with. Before it could hit him, Joseph used Hermit Purple to grab the vase and Zeppeli's arms, but in turn, Joseph was wrapped by Green Parade. "Josuke!" Zeppeli shouted at the top of his lungs, "Do it now!!" to which Josuke summoned Crazy Diamond and punched a hole through his chest with the vase in Zeppeli's hands. Pulling it out and restoring Joseph's body, Josuke threw the vase of the balcony, shattering the vase and holding his father. Zeppeli looked at Josuke and Joseph, noticing that Joseph looked very, very pale and bony that almost made him look like a recently deceased corpse. Josuke looked up at him and said, "Zeppeli, he needs help!" Carrying Joseph's body to his bedroom, Zeppeli and Josuke thought about what to do to save the old man's life. Looking out the nearby window of the New York skyline, Zeppeli had an idea that seemed to be insane at first. "Josuke, I'll be right back. I just need to know what bloodtype he is." Josuke looked up with tears in his eyes, "B Negative. Zeppeli, what are we going to do?!" To which he replied, "Simple. I'll go get him some." Then he disappeared with the help of Black Parade behind him, leaving Josuke and Joseph alone in the room. Pacing back and forth, Josuke thought about what to do because he couldn't just restore his father's body because the contaminated blood would go back into Joseph's body. Then he heard a scratching sound that seemed to come from underneath the bedroom door, leaving Josuke's eyes very wide. He gasped as he saw Joseph's contaminated blood reform into the shape of a man that was very tall, almost taller than Josuke. The man had a large chest and a face that was very distorted except for the left side of the head that was almost... familiar. The face belonged to none other than the torturer of the Joestar lineage for over one hundred forty years: DIO. "You bastard! Why are you doing this?!" To which DIO chuckled, "When Jotaro killed me... I barely remember a thing. Then I woke up, but my vision was split in a strange way. Partially, part of my head was floating in the water then everything changed and I saw Jotaro standing above me, so I pretended to be his grandfather for years. Hell, I even pretended to be YOUR father you miserable LITTLE SHIT!" Josuke blocked his father's body with his own and shattered the wood floors to create a wall to gap the distance between them. Listening to DIO's laughter, he then heard someone kick in the door and shout, "Hey asshole! BURN IN HELL!!" With the sound of fire whooshing through the air. DIO's blood growled at the owner of the flamethrower and evaporated. Looking beside the wall, Josuke was revealed to see Sara and Zeppeli with packets of blood along with a flamethrower.
