It was just an ordinary, average day for Jess. Her day started as it usually did, in the tour bus, the other girl yelling about stupid shit. Pulling the covers over her head, she tried to block out her band mate Gabi.
"Wake up Jess," she grumbled, not happy to be awake this early, "The bus stopped and I need coffee."
"Go by yourself, I need fucking sleep." Jess tried closing the curtain so she could get some more z's, but unfortunately for her, Gabi beat her to it. Groaning, she got up, stretching her arms. "If I go with you, will you shut up later so I can take a nap?" Gabi latched onto the brunette's arm, jumping up and down.
"Let's go!" Jess struggled to get her arm out of the taller girl's vice grip. After she managed to get free, Jess got dressed, putting on a beanie to cover her bed head. After a few minutes, both stepped off the bus and headed to the coffee shop a few blocks away.
"Man, I need like 17 cups of coffee right now, I'm so tired." Gabi complained, yawning halfway through her sentence.
"Maybe if you didn't sleep so fucking late and woke up so early there wouldn't be a problem." Jess nudged the other girl, " I can barely deal with you when you don't have coffee, 17 cups and I would probably murder you for some peace and quiet." Soon enough, they entered the coffee shop, and got in line.
"Oh you're no fun," Gabi teased, turning around before ordering her large coffee. "Do you want anything?"
Jess shook her head, deciding not to get anything so she could go back to the bus and sleep.
After waiting for 5 minutes, their order was called, Jess opting to stay seated while Gabi went to get their coffee.
You could say that this was a decision that changed her life.
"No, that's MY coffee, get your own!" She heard Gabi tell from across the room. When she looked she saw that her friend was yelling at some guy, who looked equally angry.
"Listen here, I ordered that coffee, I've been waiting for it for, like, ten minutes. You're the one who should get your own!" The boy was a bit more calm, and she could see that Gabi was about to chuck the coffee in his smug face. deciding it was time to intervene, she went up and grabbed her friend by the arm, dragging her away. Looking at the boy, she saw that he had an attractive friend who was trying to do the same. Over her shoulder, she yelled out an apology.
"Sorry, she can be a bit wild." He nodded and yelled back.
"Sorry for him, I guess it was hate at first sight."
Leaving the shop with a fuming Gabi in tow, she thought about how cute he was, lamenting over the fact she's probably never see him again.
If only she knew how wrong she was.
