"So you kissed Calum?" Jess and Gabi were lying on the couch, Jess with her face in a pillow.
"He kissed me." She corrected, to which Gabi rolled her eyes.
"Anyways, you guys kissed." Her friend began to smile, playfully shoving Jess's shoulder. "So, how was it? Was it any good?"
"I don't see how this is any of your business." She remarked, turning away so her friend wouldn't see her blush.
"Since when do I care whether it's my business or not? Just tell me." Gabi whined, taking the pillow away from Jess.
" It was good, I guess." She took back the pillow as Gabi began to laugh.
"You so like him, I mean, you're a damn tomato right now."
"No I don't." Jess yelled, trying to convince not only Gabi, but a small part of herself that said otherwise. "He's just a good friend who happens to be attractive. Even if I did, which I don't, I still haven't broken up with Tyler. I'm not ready for another relationship, even if it's with a cute bassist who happens to share the same sense of humor and is good at kissing." Gabi just sighed.
"You need to break up with him."
"I know, I just, I don't want to." Gabi began to lecture her, but Jess just put her finger up. " It's not like that, I'm not in love with him or anything, it's just hard. If I could get someone to do it for me that would be perfect, but you can't do that."
"Why not? I'll tell him for you."
"No! That's heartless and ru-" she was interrupted by the look Gabi was giving her.
"Who cares, he deserves it, he's more heartless than you'll ever be. Let me do it." She thought it over, wondering if it was still a terrible thing to do, but realized Gabi was right. (as fucking always)
"Fine." Reaching over the couch, she handed her phone to Gabi, who proceeded to call Tyler.
"Tyler? It's Gabi. Jess is dumping you because you're a cheating fucknut. That's all." Hanging up, she threw the phone back to Jess.
"Did he sound mad?"
"I didn't give him time to explain or talk at all, he doesn't deserve any of it. Anyways, now you can move on. Maybe move on with a bassist?" Gabi winked, nudging Jess lightly.
"I told you, I'm not into him like that." But she wasn't so sure, her mind was telling her that it was too soon, that it would never work. But her heart said something different, she couldn't quite understand it, but it felt like there was something more with him, more than she told herself. "I mean it was just a spur of the moment kiss, even if I did like him, he probably just felt bad for me. I doubt he'd like me back."
