Their last show had just ended, and everyone was together in a group hug, telling each other how much they meant to each other. After those minutes in the sweaty group, they all broke apart, and Jess hugged Calum tightly, her head nestled in the crook of her neck.
"We did it." she mumbled, a few tears rolling down her cheek, a mixture of happy because they had done it, and sadness, that it was over. She pulled away, wrapping her arms around his neck and looking him in the eyes. Cal put his hands on her waist.
"We did it." There was the lingering question in the air, everyone to afraid to say it, because if they did they would finally have to acknowledge the fact that they were all parting ways, the boys going to Australia for a few months, and Jess and Gabi staying in California. Calum got closer to Jess, whispering in her ear.
"Nothing is gonna change." His voice cracked, showing that he was close to crying, but continued to try and reassure her. "I'm just gonna leave for a couple months, and then I'm gonna come back, and we'll be together. Until then, let's enjoy the time we have." Jess pulled away, nodding and wiping the remaining tears.
"It's not like we won't be able to talk, I mean, we can Skype and text and all. It's just kind of a bummer, y'know, we basically just got together and now you're leaving." She began to cry softly, so Calum returned to their position, hugging her tightly.
"Shh, I'll be back, I'll always come back for you. I love you, remember, and I'm not just gonna leave forever. No matter what, I love you, and I'll always come back. I'm going to make this next week all about us."
