A WEEK LATER AFTER DANIEL AND OPHELIA'S 'HEART-TO-HEART' conversation, it was the day of Daniel's karate tournament.

And here Ophelia was, sitting in front of James.

"So. . . Why didn't you go with your little karate buddy to his big ol' convention or whatever today?" James asked, goofily chewing on a french fry that he had ordered her at the Diner they were in.

Luckily, James didn't seem to notice the way that Ophelia tensed when he asked the sudden question. How did James know about the tournament?

The thing that she told Miyagi to get out of going to the tournament, was that she wasn't feeling good and that James was coming over to be her 'caretaker'. . . But both Miyagi and Ophelia knew that it was truly so that she did not have to see Alli and Daniel together.

Ophelia cleared her throat as she tried her best to think up a lie on the spot so she wouldn't end up upsetting James; he was very sweet to her, after all.

The young girl shrugged as she reached over and grabbed a fry from the tray to nervously nibble on. "Not sure, wasn't really feeling up to it, I guess."

James hummed, nodding for a moment before pausing in his seat. He then looked up with a raised eyebrow to look into Ophelia's bright blue radiant eyes.

"I have nothing to worry about, right?" He quietly asked as he leaned in close, his tone barely audible.

Ophelia faked a fond smile as she leaned into his hand that was placed under her chin sweetly. She shook her head subtly, giggling slightly, "Of course, nothing to worry about," she said confidently, although hiding the fact well that she was lying through her teeth.

James winked attractively as he shoved a couple more fries into his curled mouth. "Good. . . You're all mine."

As she gulped down her soda, Ophelia let an uncomfortable shiver tickle down her spine and she sucked in a breath, knowing she would have to stick it through this entire date, which feel like it had already gone on for a few good years.

AS OPHELIA INTO THE FRONT ENTRANCE OF MISTER MIYAGI'S DEN, She could feel a change of atmosphere.

She raised an eyebrow as a delighted looking Daniel looked at her from across the room where he sat eating homemade rice and sushi.

And before she knew it, Ophelia was being lifted up and spun around in a butterfly inducing, tight bear hug by a giggling Daniel.

She managed to push her intrusive feelings and thoughts out of her head as Daniel let her back down on the floor, and the two of them pulled back, revealing Daniel's lip splitting grin.

Ophelia chuckled, putting her hands on her hips. "I'm guessing you won the tournament, hot-shot?"

Daniel raised his fist in the air wildly, shouting his next words; "I won!"

Ophelia laughed, not shocked in the slightest. "Oh gosh, Daniel, I'm so proud of you!" she gushed, her grin now almost winning against his.

But before the two could get any further with their exciting conversation, someone cleared their throat from the dining table, interrupting the two.

Both's attention shot back over to behind Daniel, where none other than Alli Mills sat curtly at the table, giving Ophelia the deadliest glare known to mankind.

Ophelia sighed, rolling her eyes as she walked over to the table to sit next to Miyagi, who was smiling apologetically to Ophelia.

"Grow up, bitch," Ophelia murmured harshly under her breath, as she watched Daniel slowly make his own way back to the table, awkwardly.

"Excuse me?" Alli said, making Ophelia mentally curse herself; how could Alli have heard that? It was so quiet.

It was painfully quiet for about thirty seconds before Daniel spoke up.

"Hey, uh, Alli?" he croaked out tensely, obviously avoiding eye contact with Ophelia. "Why don't I show you the training area?"

Alli shot Ophelia a devilish grin before sighing dreamily, shooting Daniel a heart-stopping smile. "Of course!"

Ophelia tried her hardest right then and there not to scratch Alli and Daniel's eyes out.
How could he show her the sacred place where they train? Their serene, private place? The only place that she feels safe?

As Mister Miyagi and Ophelia silently watch Daniel grab Alli's pale hand and quickly pace out of the sliding door, Miyagi turned to Ophelia, his soft eyes watching her watery ones.

As the man brought in the daughter-like figure into his arms gently, Ophelia sniffed into his shoulder.

    "Why is it always her?"

author's note ::  hey guys! wow it's been SOOO long!!! i just really want to say thank u all so so much for all the love and votes on this book!!! i'm not really interested in writing anymore due to no motivation, but i'll always keep you guys updated....

now here's the real reason why i was gone: my mom. now i'm not one to get really personal on social media, but my mom has had cancer for 3+ years now, and recently she has gotten into such bad condition that she had to be put into hospice care.

we learned that there is a 99% chance of her not living another year, so i had that to deal with, and i had to go thru so much else.

i no longer had time, motivation, or even thoughts to write.

i have no idea where i'm going with this book anymore, so if you maybe want to PM me on here, and maybe give me some plot lines, that would be great!!

⚠️ ACT TWO WILL BE STARTING AFTER THIS, WHICH MEANS WE WILL BE GOING INTO THE KARATE KID PT. 2. THIS WILL BE A SHORT ACT. ⚠️
