OPHELIA LOOKED OVER AT JAMES, who sat across the table from her. He looked back at her, pancakes stuffed into his mouth. He gave her a goofy smile nonetheless, and she giggled at this.
In the past half year, Ophelia was proud to say that her and James were more serious about their relationship than ever. She had mostly forgotten about her feelings for Daniel, accepting the fact that it would more than likely never happen, no matter how much she tried to change that. And plus, James loved her. And Ophelia loved him.
Everything about James was perfect. His bright brown hair that was always soft to the touch, the way his honey brown eyes glistened whenever he let out his melodic laugh. His soft, plump lips that felt amazing against hers. And it didn't hurt that he had a six-pack.
"So," James whistled out a slow breath from where he sat across the table from her. "What are your plans for this summer now that it's officially started?"
Ophelia thought for a few moments before shrugging. Mister Miyagi taught her all of the necessary things they didn't teach you in school, so she didn't go. So, spending time with people this summer wouldn't be a difference; it would just be that people would have more free time.
"You know, the usual." She shrugged as she took a bite out of her scrambled eggs, shifting her position in the seat that she was in at the local diner. "Training with Miyagi and Daniel, and spending time with you."
James guffawed, raising his brows as he took another bite out of his pancakes. "I still can't believe you're still spending time with that loser, Daniel."
Ophelia frowned at him, her eyes narrowing into a glare. "Daniel's not a loser," her tone turned into an upset one as she set down her fork. "He's my best friend."
"Yeah, and you still spend more time with him, even though we've been dating for a long time," James remarked. Ophelia's mouth gaped open with shock before she decided to fire back at him.
"Yeah? And how long has that time been? How long have we been dating?"
Once this shot out of Ophelia's mouth, James' jaw was the one hanging open with shock. He didn't know what to say to her. The young girl's heart sank inside of her chest as she leaned back in her chair, scowling as she grabbed her purse.
"I'm out of here," she growled out under her breath walking out of the diner doors, ignoring James' shouts of protests. She looked at him over her shoulder, shooting him a cold glare.
"By the way, we've been together for six months. But keep in mind, if you insult Daniel ever again, it won't be six months anymore." And with that, she walked out of the diner, fuming as she left a dumbfounded James behind.

WHEN OPHELIA SKATED UP TO MIYAGI'S PLACE, she saw none other than Daniel Larusso pacing out in the front yard, his hands running through his soft, jet black hair in a distressed manner.
"Daniel?" Ophelia called out to him, kicking her board off to the side as she jogged up to him. Confusion and concern was clear across her face. "What's going on?"
This was a rare sight; if Daniel was stressed, he would usually let it out through practicing karate, and that would help him. But he barely ever allowed himself to show his distress like this. But he trusted Ophelia to see him like this. He trusted her with his entire life.
At the mere sight of her, Daniel seemed to relax in the slightest bit, backing up to the front steps of Miyagi's Dojo/Den and plopping down onto one of the sanded wooden steps. Ophelia followed him closely, sitting beside him as she listened closely.
Daniel looked over at her with wide eyes. "Mr. Miyagi got a letter from Okinawa. His Father is really sick or something, and he won't let me go with him. He said that he has to go as soon as possible, and I really wanna go with him and support him, but I can't."
Ophelia's heart felt like it was being wrenched out of her chest as she saw tears well up in Daniel's eyes. Her brows knitted together as her hand found its way to his back, rubbing it comfortingly. Daniel leaned into her warm touch ever so slightly as he tried to focus on her soft, soothing voice.
"Daniel, I'm sure Mr. Miyagi will be fine in Okinawa. Why won't he let you go?" Ophelia's light blue eyes had become soft with empathy as she continued to listen as Daniel leaned into her side, placing his head on top of her shoulder.
Ophelia blatantly ignored the butterflies that threatened to let loose inside of her stomach.
"I have no money to buy a ticket to go with him, and I told him that I have my college fund. He won't let me use it." Daniel let out a tiny sniffle, and Ophelia cracked a small, heart-warming smile towards him.
"Well, you kind of have to go to college. It's important." Her tone was firm.
"Going to Okinawa to support Mr. Miyagi is more important to me than some stupid education." Daniel's face hardened at the thought of using all of his money on college instead of Mr. Miyagi.
Ophelia's smile softened into an admiring one as she patted Daniel's back gently. "Well then, you have a plane to catch," she hummed out.
