"YEAH, SO I GUESS THAT MEANS I CAN ACCOMPLISH ANYTHING, HUH MISTER MIYAGI?"

Daniel, Mister Miyagi & Ophelia were walking out to Mr. Miyagi's backyard/training place. Ophelia rolled her eyes as she listened to Daniel's cockiness.

"Hai," Mr. Miyagi confirmed to the young boy as he lead the three over to the fence, stopping in front of it.

The two of them eyed the multiple paint canisters, along with the two brushes. "What's going on?" Ophelia asked.

"Now that you two have caught fly, you can paint fence. Accomplish everything, eh?" Miyagi stated, nodding to the full canisters of tan paint.

Ophelia huffed as she watched Mister Miyagi hand off a canister to Daniel, and then one to herself. This thing was heavy.

"So uh, what is this, Mr. Miyagi?" Daniel chuckled out, confused out of his mind as he stared down at the paint.

"You paint fence, like Miyagi say. Ophelia~San show you technique." Mister Miyagi stated, nodding over to Ophelia, who blushed slightly but also noticed Daniel's hardened stare at Miyagi.

She stepped forward to Daniel, nodding. "Hey, listen to Mr. Miyagi. He knows what he's doing."

Daniel nodded as he dipped his brush into the paint, started to dab at the fence. Even Ophelia knew it was wrong, so she stepped forward before Miyagi could, gently grabbing his wrist.

"No, no. It's all in the wrist, see?" Ophelia said, grabbing her own paintbrush and demonstrating it herself, nodding towards the specific hand/wrist motions that she was using. She had done this to the inside of Miyagi's house already, so she knew what to do.

"Ah. . . okay, okay. I think I got it," Daniel nodded, trying his best to copy the girl's demonstration with his own brush.

Ophelia felt Daniel's eyes still trained onto her. She sent him a look as she continued painting. "Don't look at me, look at the fence."

Daniel averted his eyes to said fence, continuing the fluid motions. Ophelia smiled. "Good. Now, breathe in and out. Deep breaths; in, and out." she said, doing it herself.

The two both moved in the same direction together as Mr. Miyagi slowly walked away with a grin of his own on his face. The two didn't even notice as they both started up a conversation as they moved onto another wooden panel.

"So, you've painted fences before?" Daniel asked, awkwardly trying to start up a conversation.

Ophelia only shrugged in response. She didn't want to talk to him right now; she wanted to curl up and cry.

Daniel took the hint, nodding to himself as the two went back to focusing on their brush strokes and breathing.

"Look Lia, I'm sorry‒"

"It's fine."

"No, but really‒"

"I said it's fine, Daniel."

Ophelia's stern voice was enough to shut him up. He knew he fucked up, but he had no idea how to make it up to the girl. He was never a good casanova.

The two went on to finish the entire side of that fence in about half an hour or so. Thankfully since it was two people instead of one, it went faster. Ophelia would stop Daniel here and there to correct his posture and wrist movements. Then, Ophelia decided she couldn't take the silence anymore.

"Hey, Daniel?"

"Yeah, Lia?"

"Can I ask you a question?" Ophelia's voice was soft.

Daniel gulped nervously, "Sure, anything."

Ophelia turned to look straight into his baby brown eyes, which were already looking at her. "Why did you lead me on this entire time?" she asked, trying not to let her voice waver sadly.

Daniel felt his heart drop into his stomach before he shook his head, humorlessly chuckling. "You know, I could ask you the exact same question."

Ophelia scoffed slightly, stepping towards him a bit. "Excuse me? What do you mean by that?" she asked, seemingly offended.

Daniel scoffed as well, throwing his hands up in frustration. "Don't act so damn clueless, Ophelia! You're going out with that guy, too."

Ophelia raised an eyebrow, "Who, James?" When Daniel nodded her head at the name, she laughed humorlessly. "Oh, come on. Me and him aren't even official or anything. Stop being a baby."

"A baby?! You're the one who brought up this entire topic!"

"Fuck you! You can finish this job by yourself, asshole."

"Yeah? Well, fuck you too! Have fun with that bimbo skater dude!" Daniel scoffed, watching as Ophelia stormed off into the den, where Mr. Miyagi tried to pretend as if he hadn't overheard the entire fight.

Ophelia stopped in front of the man, sighing. "Mister Miyagi, I really don't feel too good. Do you mind if I go home?"

Miyagi nodded kindly. "No problem, Ophelia~San."

Ophelia gave him a tired smile, nodding gratefully. "Thank you Mr. Miyagi. See ya tomorrow."

As he watched the young and flustered girl storm out of the den, Mister Miyagi chuckled to himself as he shook his head.

"Young love, eh."
