Chapter 27- Terror Of The Death Sea

Nightfall has fully arrived as the full move becomes the world's only source of light. The clouds slowly devour the sky with sounds odd thunder booming above them. Raindrops slowly fall from the sky covering the ship.
Captain Kraton looks up at the sky as he puts a toothpick in his mouth.
"Aye lads it is upon us. This sea is about to put us to the test, again. Arabella, I sure hope that you are ready for what is coming," Captain Kraton says with some fear in his voice. Arabella holds her sword tightly as she turns her attention towards the Sea. The rain quickly begins to pour harder on the crewman blinding them. The young Queen is lucky that her stone always keeps her warm.
Arabella pulls her hair back away from her face. The men get their guns loading and points them at the sea.
Suddenly explosions appear throughout the sea as something emerges from the sea. Creatures crash down onto the ship's floor and stand back up. The creatures themselves appear black with thick scales all over their bodies. Their bodies are tall and slender with large hands. One of the creatures growls loudly showing its long thick teeth.
   Arabella stares in horror as she struggles to keep a good grip on her sword. Her heart beats violently through her chest as her anxiety begins to rise as multiple multiple monsters land on the deck.
   The men cry out just before firing off their guns at the creatures. Arabella's head naturally ducks as the guns are fired off all around her. One of the monsters violently charges at Arabella with its arms out ready to strike. The Queen takes her sword and swiftly cuts through the monster causing blood to spatter all over the floor. The sight of blood and guts brings disgust to Arabella. The adrenalin rushing through Arabella's body allows her to continue to fight the monsters without focusing on the graphic scene that is being created. She slashes her sword at an incoming monster managing to cut its arm off.
Egore cries out in anger as he shoots the incoming monsters. He stands behind Arabella covering her backside.
"Arabella, do you need a gun!" he shouts as he very quickly reloads the gun before firing it off. Arabella punches one of the creatures in the face knocking it to the ground. The Queen knows that her stamina will quickly be depleted if she keeps this up.
"Aye! My sword can only do so much against these things!" She exclaimed as she reaches her hand back for the gun. Egore quickly pulls a gun out of his belt and hands it to her without even having to look back. Arabella quickly takes the gun and opens fire on the incoming creatures.
As Arabella and Egore cover each other's backs, the rest of the crew scatter themselves all over the ship as they fight.
Arabella takes several shots at the incoming monsters before having to reload her gun. She knows that having to reload her gun could lead to her demise. It may be time for her to realize to the crew her ultimate secret.
Arabella channels the powers to her hand and creates a fireball. She hurls the ball at one of the creatures knocking it back as it becomes engulfed in flames.
   Egore turns his attention to Arabella as he looks at her in shock. The monsters snarl as they notice one of their kind being on fire. Fear slowly crawls its way through Arabella's body.
   The monsters quickly crawl their way towards her with their teeth ready to strike. The Queen puts her hands together and launches several fireballs at the monsters knocking them back.
"The Queen has fire powers! Yes!" Egore exclaims as he raises his hands in the air in excitement.
   Arabella smirks as she throws more balls of fire at the creatures in all directions. The other men fire their guns off at the monsters knocking them off the ship. The monsters continue to ascend from the ocean and onto the ship with their claws out.
Arabella grits her teeth before unleashing a wave of fire in the air at the monsters. Some of the fire hits the floor of the ship igniting it in flames. The young Queen quickly absorbs the fire back into her hand thus putting the fire out. A surge of energy rushes through her body as the fire flows back into the stone.
   Captain Kraton jumps down to her side and fires off his guns at the monsters.
   "Well, now it makes sense as to why you are so eager to collect that sword! Of course, we will discuss this after this is all over," Kraton shouts as he fires off his duel-wielding pistols.
   "These things will keep coming throughout the night unless we find a way to scare them off. Perhaps your powers can help us!"Captain Kraton continues to fire off his shots in multiple directions around them.
   "Well, the fire seems to be working very well in our favor," Arabella exclaims. She extends her arms and draws a circle of fire around the Captain and herself.
The creatures quickly direct their attention to the others as they leap away from the fire.
   "Oh great! Well, come here you ugly bastards!" Egore yells out as he rapidly fires off shots with his rifle at the incoming monsters. Blood continues to spatter all over the ground as the bullets penetrate the monster's bodies. Adrain runs to Egore and stands behind him and starts shooting the monsters.
"We cannot keep this up much longer! At this rate, we will burn through all of our ammo within the hour!" Adrian shouts as he quickly reloads his pistol.
Arabella's heart begins to rise as more monsters rise out of the ocean. She immediately sends out a barrage of fireballs at them. The fire dissipates before it even hits the ship. Her control of the stone's power continues to grow with each attack.
"Arabella, as much as I appreciate you using your powers, perhaps you can create something that will scare off these creatures for good!" Captain Kraton calls out from behind Arabella. Arabella waves her arms around herself and creates a ball of fire that herself as well as the Captain. The Captain quickly covers shields his eyes with his hands.
   "How am I suppose to scare all of these creatures away? No matter what I do they seem to keep coming!" Arabella holds her hands out as she manages to control the fire spere.
   "Well, maybe you could direct the fire around the ship? Maybe create like a huge snake to surround us all?" Captain Kraton struggles to speak as he watches the fire continue to swirl around them.
"A snake? Are you crazy?! I would have to create the biggest snake ever to ward these monsters off!" The horrific shriek can be heard as the monsters become engulfed in flames as they try to enter the fire sphere.
"These things are going to keep coming! We have to do something before we get overrun," Captain Kraton breaks out in a state of panic as he cowers away from the fire.
Arabella closes her eyes just as she takes a deep breath. She pulls the fire back into her body through her hands before dispersing it back out. The fore takes form as a giant snake and slithers right about the floor.
The snake makes its way to the border of the ship. It hisses as it stretches its body out so that it coils around the entire ship. All of the monsters shriek as they retreat into the ocean.
   Once all of the monsters leave the ship, Arabella turns the snake into a wall of fire that stretches around the ship. The Young Queen drops to her knees as she becomes exhausted. She rubs her head as she tries to pull herself together. Once her head recovers she stands back up and finds the crew staring at her in horror.
   "What the hell was that? Are you some kind of witch?!" Egore angrily shouts as he points his gun towards Arabella. Captain Kraton quickly moves Egors' hands towards the floor.
   "She is no witch Egore! She posses the Fire stone, you idiot!" The Captain's voice is loud and serious.
"The Fire stone? That is just a fairy tale! I would only believe such an object would exist if I was extremely drunk!" Egore aggressively moves his gun away and moves past his Captain. His facial expression drastically changes as he notices a stone on Arabella's chest.
   "I do not believe it. The stone is real! He-he I take back what I said!" Egore's expression has changed from extreme anger to extreme excitement.
   Arabella looks at them with a blank expression as she cannot decide if she should feel angry at the fact that Egore accused her of being a witch. She decides that it is best that she moves on from his comment and finally gets honest with them.
   "Yes Egore, I possess the Fire stone and as you can tell, I know how to use it," Arabella slowly walks towards them.
   "How the hell did you end up with such an artifact? After all, that thing was lost ages ago," Adrain asks as his eyes stay locked onto the stone. Arabella stops walking when she reaches 4 feet from them. She takes a deep breath before she decides to speak.
   "I found the stone while exploring a mountain that sits near my Kingdom,"
   "Which mountain would that be exactly?"
   Mount Gorge, have you heard of it?" Arabella's lips naturally begin to form a smirk as she asks the question. Surely one of these guys has heard of that mountain.
   "I have not heard of said mountain. but more importantly, this revelation is fantastic! Now those vicious creatures will never try to attack us again!" Adrain throws his hands up in excitement.
"Not exactly. The more I use my power the weaker I become. I am keeping that fire from keeping those creatures from coming back onto the ship," Arabella sits down on a small barrel and looks out at the burning fire.
"So how does the fire prevent the creatures from possibly board the ship from below?" Ronald says while he points his gun to the ground.
Arabella lets out a tired sigh as her eyes make their way to the floor where Ronald is pointing.
"We will play our role to ensure that does not happen," Captain Kraton stands tall among his men. Egore and Ronald their heads just before walking to the hatch that leads within the ship.
Arabella slowly lowers the fire by several inches which brings relief to her. She sits down a nearby beer barrel and lets out a quiet sigh.
"Are you going to be okay, Arabella?" Adrian asks as he approaches her. Arabella takes a moment to evaluate how she feels.
"I will be. I am attempting to use as little of my power as possible. It helps preserve my youth,"
Suddenly the floor hatch opens and slams down on the ground. Arabella and Adrain turn their gaze to the hatch. Ronald sticks his head out from the opening and looks at the young Queen with a smile.
"The ocean looks clear! It looks like you have scared off those bastards!" He climbs his way out of the floor with Egore following just behind him.
   A feeling of relief  rushes through Arabella's body as she lets out a long sigh. She reaches her hands out towards the fire and extinguishes it completely with her power. The stones' light dims completly dims as she stops pulling energy from it. 
   All the guys execpt for Adien group together and stand in front of arabella with a serious look on their faces. This sudden change in face exspression puzzles Arabella.
   "What is with the angry look guys? If I did not use the powers those monsters would of overwhlemed us," She stands back on her feet and uses her hands to free her dress of any wrinkles.
   "I think it is time you told us who you are what your true goal is," Captain Kraton says with a cold stern voice as he keeps his arms crossed. Arabella looks down as she lets out a sigh of defeat as she knew that this moment would eventually come.
