Minerva's Lesson

Life had taught me harshly that it wasn't the best,

To always hunt for, expect and think of the worst

So, I decided I was going to let a little bit of light in,

Going to see a few more roses and a little less sin

But it seems life had prepared one more lesson for me

The other side of the same coin it needed me to see

Born of greed, lust and treachery, children of whores

Masked with benevolence they washed up on my shores

It is in those very actions, that you must drown their word,

The forked tongued man's stories of promise must go unheard

Concoct a unique poison of proportionate trust and mistrust,

Your gut & your inner judgement remember to never adjust
