Chapter 78: Water Spray

"So, we want to bring back two truths one lie, but it's going to have to be rematch episodes at this point, especially since Ian is banned from competing," one of their writers comments in a big Monday morning pitch meeting. They've ended up planning much closer to their filming schedule than usual – for Pit and Games videos, anyway, they're all good for sketch – so they've got the entire writing and producing staff, plus the cast, in for an intensive meeting to sort it out.

"We could definitely bring in Olivia to do an episode with me, I'm not sure we've done one before actually," Courtney suggests, someone noting it down.

"If we wanted to go the way of new things, could also be me and Courtney," Damien adds, "although I think a Shayne and Courtney rematch would go over well with views if they were up for it. Keith and Noah too."

"I'd be cool with us doing one, although I dunno how we'd go coming up with things we don't know," Shayne confirms.

"Yeah. I think I could manage, though, we just gotta include the condition where the question-asker gets sprayed if it's guessed correctly in case we do get all of them right," Courtney points out.

"I think that'd be a good condition to include for all of them, anyway, makes it much higher stakes," Sarah agrees, and they move on to scheduling filming a handful of those episodes later in the week when Olivia, Keith and Noah will be in for some sketch shoots anyway.

"Damien, you've been working on a Games idea?" Sarah prompts, when they've moved past the Pit section of their meeting.

"Yeah, so, I don't think I've seen anyone else doing it before – Among Us content is still going great, maybe there's a way we could do am Among Us IRL setup? Like, set up a whole section of the studio into different rooms, tasks, have an imposter that has to fake tasks and has some way to kill off people, maybe handing over a particular object or something?" Damien suggests. He's previously mentioned his idea to both Shayne and Courtney, and they both hype it up, the rest of their producing and content teams quickly jumping on board, also adding it into their filming schedule.

They have their whole cast in for a trio of long filming days at the end of that week, and they choose to schedule a handful of two truths one lie shoots for the Thursday afternoon. Keith and Noah are up first, Olivia and Courtney sitting on the audience seats behind them and poking fun at them as they manage to get everything wrong and fake at least three fights as they film. Olivia and Courtney are up next, Damien joining Keith in the audience seats for their shoot. Courtney manages to scrape a win by one point, although mostly through guessing her way through Olivia's insane questions and using her own wild family stories from childhood to make her own stories a difficult guess. She still gets a wet shirt, though, quickly moving off to the bathrooms to switch it out for another before she returns to the set for her and Shayne to film their own episode.

"Hello everyone and welcome back to two truths one lie!" Shayne takes the intro of the video, Courtney jumping in with the subscription promo, before they both leave it to Ian – in one of the audience spots to the side of the table, with Damien – to explain how it works.

"So they'll take turns saying three things, two of them will be true and one a lie. Other player guesses the lie, and if they get it wrong, they get wet – but if they get it right, get to spray the questioner!"

"Hey, sounds like you know how to play the game now Ian, should we lift the ban on you playing?" Shayne asks, everyone – including Sarah off-camera – quickly shouting out an emphatic no.

Courtney raises her water gun threateningly towards Shayne, grinning and narrowing her eyes, subtly prompting him to finish off the intro.

"Okay, so no Ian – but today I'm facing off against my lovely fiancé, Courtney Miller," Shayne leans forward towards her, hand threateningly moving to rest on his own gun, "I don't know how this'll go, given we know pretty much everything about each other, but we'll see... you wanna go first, Court?"
