As the weeks passed by, Taehyung learned the true meaning of being free. He never knew how much stress and fear he had until now. The sense of relief of being immense, not having to look over his shoulder everytime he leaves the safety of the pack grounds. Not constantly worrying if he will make it back home to his mate, or if his mate will make it back home to him. He now truly gets to enjoy the time he spends with his family and friends. Like the moment he is spending now with Jungkook.
The two are laughing and giggling as the young Omega was surprised with a blanket fort when he came back home from spending the day with his mother in town. He never knew they had that many sheets and pillows, making him wonder if his mate went and bought some more. Mounds of pillows and blankets litter the floor as Jungkook set up a cozy movie theater under the sheets, using his old gaming laptop as the screen.
Taehyung laughs as he tosses a grape in his mouth. Jungkook smiles as he puts in the second disc of Pride and Prejudice, both agreeing that the six hour movie is far better than the three hour version. The young Omega is surprised he made it this long every other time he watches the long version he is already asleep, though it does help that it is only six in the evening.
"You seem happier." Jungkook comments as he goes back to his spot, biting into a strawberry.
"I wouldn't call it happier, but more free. I no longer have to fear anything, and we can now just focus on us." Taehyung replies, placing a soft kiss on Jungkook's cheek.
"Next week is my coronation and the week after that is the start of mating season. You say we can start focusing on us, but what does that entail?" The Alpha asks.
"It means that we can start working on our life together, getting married, and having children. Moon's ready Jungkook, and if I am being honest he is a little too excited for Spring Mating season."
"Moon moved on?"
"Moon has been moved on since before the trial, but was still reluctant on everything because of the enemies after us. This morning he told me that he is fully ready."
"Okay."
"Now is the questioning over so we can go back to watching the movie?"
"I have one more question for you." Jungkook says.
He reaches for a spot that is piled with the hems of the sheets that overlap each other, the perfect hiding spot. Taehyung's breath gets caught in his throat as he sees a black velvet box appear, the perfect size for a ring. Tears well up in his eyes as Jungkook opens the box revealing the most beautiful ring he has ever seen with his favorite type of gem. Green moss agate.
"Jungkook?" Taehyung questions, his voice cracking at the tears starting to fall. An overwhelming sense of joy and happiness running through his veins.
