A hefty sigh moves past Jungkook's mouth as he watches the last bit of Head Alpha's leave the meeting room. Hours upon hours of discussion yet, they made no progress, other than the fact that they can take him to court. No hardcore evidence other than two testimonies. No matter how many strong leads they thought they had, it all turned into a dead end. "Penny for you thoughts?" Avila asks as she enters the room. "I just don't know mom. Every lead we had to finding another male Omega who was in Shein's trading ring just vanishes." He explains.
"That's the point Jungkook. They are participating in illegal trading. They are careful in covering their tracks. It's life in jail, no possible way of coming out." She states placing a hand on his. "Then what do I do?" Jungkook asks. "All you have to do is find the loose thread and pull it. It will all unravel baby. You guys are not pulling the right threads. Keep trying though because eventually you'll find the right one, and I hate to say it, but I think your right thread is your mate." Avila replies. "Mom what are you talking about? How can Taehyung be the right thread?" He questions, sitting up a little bit more. The thought of his mate being in danger makes him antsy. "Yoongi couldn't remember a thing. Remember when we asked him what happened and if he could describe anything?"
"Yes." Jungkook replies. "He completely blocked it all out. Your mate Jungkook, remembers everything. You said that. He can remember the smells, the color of the walls, even the fucking paintings on the walls. He might be able to remember who was all with him, and who got sold to who, maybe if you show him some pictures he might recognize them." Avila states. "Mom, we just lost our child. I am not bringing this on him now." The Alpha replies sounding appalled. "Sweetheart I'm not talking about doing it right now. In fact I would be pissed if you did, wait until after mating season. Then softly bring it up. Make sure he is okay and not in distress when you do." His mother says before standing up and making her way to the door. "Mom. What if he doesn't."
"Then we kill Shein and Leon." Avila replies before exiting the meeting room. Jungkook takes in a deep breath before getting up. "I wish to kill them now." He says to no one but himself. He exits the meeting room and heads downstairs to the library, it is late yet he just wants to make sure his mate isn't still there. He opens the door to the room to find it completely dark. As he closes the door he sees Jin walk up to him.
"I have Taehyung's labs. I tried to call him but it was sent to voicemail." He says handing Jungkook the paperwork. "His hormone levels are where we expected them to be. They are at the same level that we would see in Postpartum Depression. What concerns me the most is his Serotonin and Cortisol levels. They are very low as well, showing severe depression." The elder Alpha explains. The Purebred takes in a deep breath as he looks at the paperwork. Looking at all the results in black and white, seeing how mis mate is clinically showing severe depression. He knows how his mate is feeling, yet seeing it on paper makes it worse. He has no clue on how to fix it, how to make him happy. "What can I do?" He asks.
"We can put him on antidepressants, we can try therapy, but other than that there is really nothing." Jin explains to the younger Alpha. "So basically nothing, he won't talk about what's going on to other people and I mentioned antidepressants once and he immediately shut it down. He doesn't want people to think something is wrong with him. He doesn't want to appear weak. I've tried to tell him that he's not weak, that no one would think he was, but he still insists on it." The Purebred explains, his voice sounding exhausted. "Let's just give it more time before we do anything. Hopefully soon he'll realize that he needs to talk to a professional." The elder states as he pays the younger one on the shoulder. "Yeah."
Jungkook and Jin bid their goodbyes, the Alpha sighing as he folds the paperwork, sticking it in his blazer pocket. He has no clue on what he is going to do, he just hopes that Taehyung will realize that he is not weak nor is he a burden. The young Alpha makes his way from the castle to the manor house. All he wants to do is take a hot relaxing shower, eat something, and cuddle with his mate. As he opens the door to the house he sees that the bottom floor lights are off. His breath gets caught in his throat as worry floods his system. Taehyung never keeps the lights off, always waiting until he comes home.
"Taehyung?" He calls out as he walks through the living room to get to the stairs. The worry only grows as he gets no response. He makes his way up the stairs, headed towards the bedroom. Once he enters the bedroom, the light is on and he can hear soft music coming from the closed bathroom door. A breath of relief moves past his lips as he hears it. He walks to the door knocking softly. "Tae, can I come in?" He asks. "Sure, it's unlocked." The younger one states.
He opens the bathroom door, finding Taehyung in the large soaker tub. A bottle of red wine with two glasses on the ledge, his phone hooked up to the speaker playing soft jazz music. The bath water filled with bubbles, some threatening to spill over the side, and the young Omega leaned back with his eyes closed. "Join me?" Taehyung asks as he looks over at his mate. "Is that even a question?" Jungkook replies as he quickly takes off his clothes. He pays the younger one's shoulder letting him know to sit up. He enters the bathtub, sighing as the hot water starts to relax his tense muscles. "I figured we both could use some relaxation." The Omega states as he turns around to sit on the elders lap.
Jungkook smiles as he places a soft kiss on the younger one's lips. "I definitely can use some relaxation." He replies as he makes a trail of soft kisses down the younger ones jaw stopping at his mate mark. He knows his limits with Taehyung right now, he know the Omega does not want to go any further and kissing and maybe some light touching if he is feeling it. He never crosses the line the Taehyung set, always so sweet with his kisses. He just enjoys being able to kiss his mate practically all over, loves being able to rub his scent everywhere he can. Not only does it make the younger one feel safe, it also keeps others away.
Taehyung pops open the bottle of red wine, pouring the glasses and handing one to Jungkook. They softly clink both of the glasses together before taking a sip, the Alpha drinking a little bit more than his mate. "How'd the meeting go?" The Omega asks as he sets his glass down on the ledge. His threads his fingers through the elders hair, watching as the Alpha visibly relaxes from the motion. "It went okay. Wish we had more on him but we don't. It's hard to find a paper trail since it is illegal to traffic Omegas. We decided that we are just going to stop until after mating season. All the packs are in the process of getting ready for it since it is less than a month away." He explains as he sets his glass down next to Taehyung's.
"I wish there was something I could do." He utters as he looks down, staring at the bubbles in the bath. Jungkook thinks back to the conversation with his mom. He wants to ask his mate if he knows anything but he also is afraid of traumatizing the younger even more. He softly grabs the Omegas face smiling softly at him. "Sweetheart listen to me, you've done enough already. Try not to dwell on it. We will get the evidence that we need." He speaks, placing a soft kiss on Taehyung's lips. The younger one nods his head in agreement, storing that thought to the back of his mind. The two fall into a comfortable silence as they look into each other's eyes.
