I watched Adonis gather flowers and started smiling to myself.
It felt good to be someone's source of happiness. All I've ever wanted to do was help, but a cage kept me from experiencing the very thing I've always wished for.
A part of my dream was already being lived through him.
I saw Adonis give people flowers to those who were crying at the river. They would smile at him and he would bow.
He was such a peculiar man.
"Princess," Uvin said from beside me.
"Yes?"
"Where will we head to first?"
"Wherever the compass leads me," I smiled as the arrow started to point towards Adonis at the shore.
I took a ribbon from my dress and placed the trinket on the end, tying it around my neck, "Much better."
Gloria came up to us both not much later, "Well, well...how did everything go?"
"Great," I said, even as my back ached from the slash.
"I'm so sorry. Your father was ju-"
"I understand," I responded quickly, "He is very persuasive sometimes."
She lowered her head.
"Chin up."
She blinked and looked back at me.
"It is over and done."
Uvin smiled at my statement and sighed, "I'll miss this place. Outside this kingdom is no fun."
I nodded.
It was almost time to begin my journey.
Gloria started squealing quietly and I followed her eyes to see my uncle swimming to the shore while pushing the craft.
He made it to land and threw a rope around it, pulling the boat onto the sand.
Uvin blushed, "H-he's strong."
I wanted to puke. "Not you too Vinny!"
He blinked, "What do you mean too?"
I silently pointed to Gloria, who was just staring holes into Oridan.
He looked between the both of them and then at me, mouthing, "Them?!"
I shrugged and Adonis walked towards us all, holding a flower up to me.
I smiled, bowing my head, and he slid the rose through my hair. "Thank you, Adonis."
He nodded and held one up for Uvin. Adonis signed to him, but Uvin didn't understand.
I clarified for him, "He asked if you would like a flower in your hair as well."
"Ohhh..." he shrugged, "Sure, I guess."
Adonis placed one into his hair and turned to Gloria, freezing up.
She bowed, noticing his hesitance, "Forgive me. You are a very kind knight."
When she rose up, she saw him bowing at her feet. She took the rose from him confusingly, and he signed.
"He said you may do the honors," I clarified once more.
She giggled and placed it into his hair, "An interesting fellow."
Adonis stood back up and went over to me. Smiling, I grabbed his hand and kissed the surface.
