I knelt down beside Uvin, taking in his earthy green eyes while they still maintained life.

"T-this feels weird," he laughed.

"Vinny, you're going to be fine. I'm goi-"

He started to close his eyes, "At least I got the guy right?"

"Uvin! Shut up and rise!"

"Right?" he asked again, beginning to tear up.

I nodded, trying to control my shaking, "Right..."

He smiled and gripped my torso with his bloody hand, "Give them hell. You hear me?"

"I will," I sobbed.

"Thank you," he released me and whispered, "I'll see you later."

All the sadness drained from my face when his head tilted to the side. Only anger emerged within me.

I moved his curls from his forehead and kissed his now cooling skin.

Adonis and Lionis stood by and watched, emotionally expressionless, even as their heart ached for the both of us.

They had experienced endless death and I wouldn't ever be used to it.

I slammed my fist into the ground, "None of this should be happening!"

Lionis began to chuckle uncontrollably and took the axes from his back, twirling them fastly in his palms before releasing them into two of the dark warriors' necks. He left the room to kill more, without hesitation.

Adonis would have stopped him, but that was just Lionis's way of showing his gratitude.

"Let's go Adonis," I sniffed, straightening the pendant around Uvin's neck before standing.

He nodded and we both ran up the stairs of the castle. Midway, the steps ceased.

"Shit, the stairs are broken."

Adonis took two hatchets from his coat and used all his strength to pierce them into the wall. He nodded his head towards his back and I hopped on.

He began to climb as fast as he could and when he reached the opening, I jumped onto the roof, rolling to the edge.

He hurried to catch my wrist before I could fall, bringing me back up onto my knees.

"There!"

I saw the book on the opposite side and Adonis and I ran towards it.

Phaedra dropped down to her feet in front of us both, laughing, "Fragile beings."

Adonis drew his sword and I stormed towards her.

Just when I was about to draw my bow, I found myself stuck in nothing but air. Why couldn't I move?

"Hm..." she hummed and looked at her nails. She took a seat on the case, crossing her legs as if she was simply passing by, "I can tell you're angry about something dear."

"Shut up!" I cried.

She pouted mockingly at my empty-threatening words, "Aww...did someone die?"

Adonis threw a knife at her head and it stopped right in front of her eye. She pushed the blade away effortlessly and it turned to dust.

"Of course you're able to still move, silent knight," she scoffed and rolled her eyes.

"Where's Jareth?!" I screamed.

She placed a hand to her heart, "Oh, darling. You really shouldn't have asked. I almost forgot my audience."

She snapped and two severed heads floated beside her.
