Kerna
It's Christmas Eve already, I haven't been in contact with anyone except my family since, I talked with Megan once and that's it, I've been spending a lot of time with my family and I realized how much i missed them I still wish dad were here and we can spend Christmas the way we usually do. This year is better than last year though, even though we still feel his absence we are learning to live with it.
Kelis successfully invited her the boy over for dinner and that's today, I could have forgotten but she has been panicking about it since he agreed to come.
We are presently having lunch mom kelis Emily and I, Emily is a really quiet girl she doesn't say a word unless you ask her a question, I'm getting really worried people like that are always full of surprises not that I don't trust her but still.
"I think we should go out spend the first hours of Christmas outside" Mom suggest
"Were would we go?"
"How about santa's village"
"Alright" everyone replies by everyone I mean kelis and I, Emily just nods
"Your boyfriend can come too" Mom says to kelis
"He is not my boyfriend" kelis exclaims
"Who do you think I'm taking about I didn't say anyone's name"
Kelis was about to respond but I interrupted her.
"With all this battering I'm beginning to wonder how you guys live together when I'm away" I say
"It's actually no problem, kelis is never home, it's either she is at vicky's or they are at some party and she's starting to drag Emily with her too" Mom replies
"And you are always at the office, I think we are pretty even" kelis retorts and I sigh, they are a lost case.
"KARENA" I'm woken up from my sleep by kelis' screams and banging on my door. I sluggishly get up and open the door, I glare at kelis who was about to knock (bang) again.
"You better be dieing"
"Are you sleeping?, dinner is in an hour and you are sleeping"
I use my hands to cover my mouth as I yawned.
"Yah so"
"Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy, this was your idea K yours" she rants
"All your panicking is making me want to go back to bed, what do you want" I groan
"I don't know what to wear, it's a disaster kerna, you have help me"
I roll my eyes
"Let's go to your room then" I say and push her out of my room
We get to her room and I find Emily on her bed with a pile of clothes, kelis' clothes. Let's get started.
Thirty minutes of yes, nos and maybes later we selected an off white dress with a red belly belt and red heels and I'm fixing her makeup.
"You look amazing, I might cry" I joke
"You look great Kel" Emily says and I nod
"Thanks guys, thanks a lot kerna"
I left kelis In her room when I was sure she was ready, when I got to my room I brushed my hair wore a black lace dress with silver heels and I was done. I got down stairs, everyone was seated on the dining, Emily had changed into a pink dress Mom was wearing a white gown the last person I noticed was darked haired boy with green eyes sitting beside kelis.
"Kerna come sit, we've been waiting" Mom says and I nod.
I take my sit at the other end of the table. This is the family dining so it's not so big, fancy but not big.
There are six chairs, while Mom is seated at the head of the table kelis is on her right and Emily is on her left, kelis' friend * cough* is on her other end which is my left while the other seat on my right between me and Emily is empty.
"Em pray for us " Mom says and she nods
"We thank the Lord for this meal that he has given us, we are grateful, we ask that the lord will bless us, Amen"
"Amen" we all reply
Mom stands up to share the food and I turn to kelis and Christian.
"Chris, this is my elder sister kerna" kelis introduced
"It's nice to meet you kerna, I have heard a lot about you" he says and I smile
"Good things I hope" I say
"The best" he smiles
Mom finished serving and turns to christian
"Tell me dear, how are your parents" Mom asks
"They are fine they wanted me to send their greetings" he says
And Mom nods
Everyone eats silently, I can tell he's nervous and trying to hide it which is great, I also don't miss the little glances he takes at my sister and the way he looks at her it's like he could go on his knees and worship her if she asks, which is also good because she deserves nothing less.
After food we are all sitting and waiting for dessert and Mom sends me a look that means it time and I nod.
"So Chris, tell us about yourself" Mom starts, kelis' head shoots up like she knows what's coming next and she send Mom a don't you dare look.
He gulped,
"I'm the first child of my parents, I have a five year old sister, and both my parents are doctors" he answers and Mom nods she is silent for a while and I just know what's coming because I've been here before.

I smile because I saw it coming dad did the same thing to me when I brought Julian home the first time.
"Christian spits the juice in his mouth into a napkin and goes into a coughing sprint.
Kelis screams "Mom" and slowly turns into a tomato.
Emily's eyes and mouth are open down and she is shocked, she better get ready she's next.
After everyone had recovered except kelis though Mom turned to Chris
"So"
"I like your daughter a lot Mrs trills, she is amazing and anybody would be crazy not to like her, and I'm not crazy" he says and we all smile kelis is now a blushing mess with her head under the table,
I must say he's cute, he's answer is almost as good as julian's.
Mom is impressed one can tell from the smile and pride in her eyes
"One more question" she says
"What would you do if my daughter doesn't want you"
"Well call me selfish but I'll keep trying till she does" he answers
"Wouldn't you get tired" mom says
I watch as he smiles and turns to my sister that is now staring at him eyes wide and mouth slightly open and he says.
"I can never get tired of her"
And that ladies and gentlemen is the most romantic thing I've ever heard.
"Well son you have my permission to kept chasing my daughter till she accepts you" Mom says.
After desert we all go out separate ways to get ready for the outing.

The next chapter is Christmas, I had really wanted it to be In line with last year's Christmas but oh well.
