Kelis and her guy friend (since I have been corrected to call him that) left in his car Mom left with the driver and Emily and I are in my car, we could have gone with Mom but for security reasons Mom can't be in public for too long.
You may be wondering why a family as powerful as ours don't move around with excess security like entourages and stuff well it because we don't like to draw attention to ourselves, my parents wanted us to have a lives a bit close to normal so if you search inline for anything regarding the Trills you would only find things about our businesses a few pictures of Mom and dad at special events but nothing on kelis and I. although they know our names but they would never be able the pin a face to the name.
we got there at eleven which is an hour till the count down. We all met at the entrance and walked in together. the place was beautiful, the lights, the music, the decors all brought a nice feeling to my heart.
Christmas has always been my favorite time of year because then my dad traveled a lot, business trips and all, but he was always home for Christmas every year.
As we strolled around we bumped into Hilda(remember her from chapter 6) and then mom and her went their way, kelis and her "guy friend'' left a almost as soon as we got here leaving just me and Emily.
Emily and I kept walking around until we found a bar then I decided we sit and get drinks.
I feel like having fun so I order a beer not strong enough to get my drunk but enough to make me a bit tipsy, Emily wanted a soda so I got her one.
"If you want to walk around you can" I said to Emily, she nodded but didn't make a move to leave.
I was concentrating on my phone and drink when I saw Emily's eye widen at something behind me then his smell hit me like a wave, I'm pretty sure I sighed.
"I was sure the pink hair looked familiar" he said still behind me. Now I may have courage as one of my high attributes but I can't seem to access any of it right now especially because of how things ended last time and goodness his accent.
"Can I seat"? He ask and I resist the urge to roll my eyes
"You don't always have to ask" I say
Then I turn to introduce Emily who has been staring at him like he is some alien specimen.
"Adrian this is Emily, my cousin" I said and she smiled
"Nice to meet you, Emily" he said and shook her hand and she turned scarlet.
"It's nice... to meet you too" she stuttered
I don't know what I felt or why I felt it when he smiled at her even though he was just being polite.
"What brings you here " I ask him
"Well, ivan's Mom runs a kind of hang out here since it's really busy today we came to help out" he replied and I nodded
"So why aren't you helping out now"
"In a hurry to get rid of me are we"?
He jokes and I smile.
I could still feel Emily's gaze on him and it is getting on my nerves, I don't know why though we are not together, do I want us to be together, no I don't want to be with anyone, but still...
"Em are you sure you don't want to walk around" I say hinting for her to leaves us and she did.
Remember when I said Adrian was good company, we sat there talking about random things and not once did I feel bored. When I check the time it was twenty minutes to twelve.
