Adrian.

Growing up, my life has always been the same routine, the same boring activities, I wasn't allowed to do anything that could ruin our family name, my mother's words exactly. I was surrounded by the same class of people, the same boring people with a mindset similar to my mother's. People who were only interested in what latest designs or which expensive resort you were spending your summer vacation. All my 'friends' fell into this category, and it wasn't long before I realized that they weren't momentarily interested in me only the benefits of what being associated with my family could bring them.
A time came when I started to hunger for a little excitement. First it was dating Beatrice, although her parents were in the same category as mine, she had a little wide side no one knew about, she was my first... well everything and the cherry on top mother didn't like her, I never knew why though, she was always the sweetest around adults. We broke up though after a while she didn't need me any longer so she ended things, now that I think of it she wasn't really different from the rest.
After that I tried having one night stands, that didn't work either, I always end up feeling bad for not calling the girls back.
Then I tried clubing, those were nice but I always end up with a splitting headache the next day, really annoying. It made me go late to school once then I got punished to help the dance club clean the studios, then they invited me to dance with them, my mother wasn't going to like it so I agreed. As expected my mom didn't like it in fact, she hated it. She used every means she could to make me drop out but I refused so she resulted threatening the team and of course it worked I got kicked out the moment the threat was dropped. I don't blame them though my mother is a scary person.
I actually enjoyed dancing coupled with the fact that it came easy to me, so I decided to keep it as a hobby, making random visits to different dance studios as past time.

Even after doing all these that little yearning for excitement was still there, that little urge for something different. That's why when my parents suggested I should go to California and live with my cousin, I didn't argue twice.
I was right though from the moment I step in California I felt it, the difference, and then that night, the one I met Kerna, she was intriguing, I had a taste of something new dancing with her. She is different, not the kind of different that is scary, the type that makes you want to explore.

when I asked what her story was I didn't expect her to answer, mainly because most people tend to clam up when at this point, she looked like she would. I could see the mental battle she was having with her self, she actually looked like she was about to run, But she didn't.

Kerna

"Where should I start" I ask, against my better judgement.

"I think you should say it in a way that is most comfortable for you" he says

"Okay, from the beginning then.

Alexa and I used to be best friends, we met at one of my parents business parties, we were the only kids our age there except for my cousins. The four of us became close."

"How old were you guys"

"About six, don't interrupt me.

About a year later my cousins moved to France leaving the both of us and we became best friends, everything was great until eleventh grade in highschool, Alex was head cheerleader and I was her assistant, she had a crush on the schools quarterback, she believed in this cliche that the head quarterback always dated the head cheerleader, but..." I paused when the waiter came with our order.

"He liked you instead" Adrian says after the waiter left.

" Yeah, that when she started changing towards me and we started drifting apart , that's when I met Megan, she was this new red head in school, I really don't remember how though but she just started fitting into our crowd and after sometime I was hanging with her and not Alex.
