(Disclaimer: we don't own PJO or any of the characters)Annabeth P.O.V
I sat on a barstool at the island in our kitchen eating my favorite cereal, Captain Crunch, and watching Charlie in his little bouncy chair. I heard a few thumps and bumps coming from upstairs that made me guess Piper was awake; Hazel was always quiet."Annabeth" Piper's groggy voice came from upstairs "where's the toothpaste?" I sighed.
"Under the sink where it always is!" I yelled up at her.
I heard her muffled thanks as she found it. A few minuets later I heard the shower being turned on and Hazel came down stairs with a towel, I guess she was going to use the downstairs bathroom.
"Hey Annabeth" she greeted and I waved good morning to her.
A half an hour later both girls sat down with me at the island.
"Exited for more Percy time today Annabeth?" Piper giggled and wiggled her eyebrows.
"Piper" I strained "I. Do. Not. Like. Him."
She shrugged, "That's what you say"
I nodded "That is what I say"
"Girls, girls" interrupted Hazel "let's all be mature here"
"You're not my mom" Piper snapped jokingly
"Yeah Hazel" I said trying to suppress a smile "I'm her mother" Piper gapped at us open mouthed as we laughed.
We heard a knock at the door which was probably Mille, thus time to leave.
"One sec" We yelled and shouldered our book bags. We rushed to the door, and as expected there stood Millie.
"Charlie's in his bouncy chair" I informed her, smiling as we scooted past her and out the door.

I stood in front of Olympia cafe, having already said goodbye to Hazel and Piper as they headed off to their math class. What if Percy doesn't show up?
I tried to not allow my mind to continue on that train of thought, but it didn't stop the stab of unease. Which was completely illogical. He would be there. Of course he would be there.
I checked my watch and walked in. To my enormous relief Percy was sitting in a booth near the back looking nervous. I guess he wasn't the most studious. He looked up and I gave him a little wave.
A bright grin broke out on his face as he saw me, and I quickly walked over and plopped down in the seat across from him at the small table.
"Hi." He said.
"Hi." I smiled in return. "Have you ordered anything?"
"What? Oh . . . Uh yeah I got some coffee."
"That sounds really good right about now." I hailed a waitress and ordered, then got a pencil and paper out of my bag.
"So I was thinking we could do like a rough draft right now and I'd type it up and send you it for some final edits and stuff tonight." I said pleasantly. "Yeah that sounds great." he replied.
There was a pause. "I'll need your email." "Oh right!" He chuckled and scratched the back of his head. "Sorry, I'm so out of it. I don't really use my email though, do you think you could text it to me?" "Sure." "Okay, my phone number is 917-423-4025." (AN: I just did random number, actual Manhattan area code though 😆 #authenticity)
I entered his number into my phone as he spoke, then set it on the table. He quickly swiped it and took a selfie of himself sticking his tongue out and winking. "Hey!" I laughed and reached my arm across the table. "Give that back!"
"Not until I make it my profile picture." He grinned cheekily and held it up so I couldn't reach it. I stood up to try to get it, but he did the same. He stood about three inches taller then me, which doesn't sound like much but I still couldn't get to my phone. "Ugh tall people! You're all insufferable." He chuckled, warm and full of mirth. My stomach did an extravagant flip-flop, made worse because I had moved around the table and was now practically against his chest.
I tried using his shoulder to pull myself up but that didn't work either. He just stood there with that infuriatingly adorable smirk plastered all over his face. Suddenly an absolutely crazy thought occurred to me. I moved my face so that my nose and forehead were almost touching his and I pouted a little.
"Please."
Percy's face turned a bright red, and his arm went slack, so I seized my chance and grabbed my phone. Grinning in triumph I sat back down.
"That was cheating." he huffed and sat as well. "Completely unfair."
I smiled knowingly. "Let's finish this up."
Hello! I realize Annabeth's a little out of character, but I feel like lots of fanfiction authors show her as a little too emotionless and I think she and Percy actually do flirt a lot (which is adorable and one of the reasons I love them so much) and also I really don't want to portray her as not caring/feeling too much, (being a little cynical is fine though that's how she is, but) we know she really loves Percy and I think that that should show. So yeah. Sorry this chapter is kinda short, comment and let us know if you want longer chapters less often, or shorter more often! Thanks so much to all the people reading this story ily all!
