Mr. Arora was trying to call his son for the last few days, but his mobile network showed unreachable every time the call was made. Even though this situation happens twice a year, Mr. Arora was adamant to reach him.
He knew this was the only time his son took to be with friends and enjoy being free from work. But today was different from any other day, he could not wait any more days for his son to call back as there was a very 'URGENT' matter in hand.
Hence, he is called Mr. Verma. Being a personal assistant and adviser of his son, Mr. Verma was the only person who could reach out to him for urgent matters.
At 'Atmantan Wellness Retreat',
Manik [elder son of Mr. Arora] received an urgent call on his private number from Mr. Verma, 'Verma ji, I hope this is something important, quickly tell me what happened?' Manik asked calmly.
Mr. Verma told him all the things and cut the call in hurry as he knew if the younger sir knew he called Manik sir, trouble would follow him everywhere.
On the poolside,
Akshad was enjoying his daily massage and holistic therapy sessions to relax his body and soul. Today was his fifth day here, hmmm ... .2 more days and I have to visit Canada for the most important conference he wondered to himself.
As Akshad was lost in his thoughts, he felt the employees stopping their routine early. As he flipped back on his back, he saw Manik staring at him with serious expressions on his charming and normally easy-going face.
'Chote, get dressed up, we need to leave for home right now.' 'But Bhai ...! '
Before Akshad could start whining, Manik gave him one final serious look and went to his room to pack things up looking at the door. Like a lost puppy Akshad followed him back to the rooms and realizing Manik had locked his room from inside he entered his own private suite.
When he was in the middle of a relaxing bath, Manik entered the suite and ordered some servants to pack things up for Akshad and load all the luggage in their Bugatti Veyron.
Soon they were on their way home. 'Bhai, what is it? Why are we hurrying back?' Akshad tried to ask again. Manik gave sly smile and spoke
'We both are going to get you married, chote!'
With that he shut Akshad up for good & refused to give more information till they reached home.
At Arora Mansion,
Mrs. Sheetal Arora was waiting in the balcony for her son to arrive ... Just then she spotted both her sons entering the mansion. She quickly ran down to the main hall and hugged Akshad who warmly embraced her.
Manik on the other hand was never a mommy's boy so he took blessings from Mr. Vimal Arora who was finally relieved to see his sons back in time of need.
After taking his father's blessing, Akshad told his mom to prepare some food for him as he was only on breakfast from morning. Sheetal lovingly prepared a delicious meal with the help of maids consisting of Dal, Chawal, Naan, Paneer sabji and some starters like soup and roasted papad. [ P.S. These are indian basic foods]
Soon, everyone was seated in the dining room. While the maids were serving them food, Akshad broke the silence by asking his father, 'Dad, Bhai told me you gathered us here for my marriage. Is that true?'
'Look son, soon your brother is getting married to his fiancé Sakshi. Let's not forget they both love each other truly', everyone including Akshad nodded their heads with smiles.
Mr. Arora continued now his face had serious expressions, 'Due to some obligations in my past life I had promised to marry my first born son to their daughter, but as you can see. I cannot do this to Manik.' Akshad looked at his brother and nodded for his father to continue.
'So the only option remains is marrying you to their daughter, as far as I know you don't have much interest in love matters. So I thought if you could do this for me, I will forever be indebted to you.' Hearing his father's begging tone Akshad couldn't bear this sight of almighty Mr. Arora begging his son.
'Dad ...please you don't have to beg me. I would not want Manik bhai to get stuck in a loveless marriage,' he said softly and continued.
'I will marry that girl but only because I love you so much and I always wanted to make you proud. I will never be able to give her the love she deserves, but I promise you I will treat her right.'
Mr Arora wiped tears from his eyes and hugged Akshad tightly 'Indeed son today saying all this you really made me proud. I will inform the girl's parents about the Sharma's about the change of groom and soon we can go and meet our daughter in law' he said looking at his wife.
Mrs Arora smiled a little and expressed how happy she is to hear this. When Akshad asked the girls name she told him,
'Her name is Meera, I have never seen her but I trust your father's choice and from what I heard from your father I have full faith that she will make you happy.'
Trying to process all this, Akshad told his mother he needed to go and check office work and prepare for the upcoming meeting & went to his room.
When inside, he reviewed all the details and landscape for his meeting and then started wondering about the reason for this sudden marriage.
What he didn't understand was- What is his dad hiding? What is the reason for such an obligation and what must have happened that his father had to give such strong words to the girl's parents?
Anyway he was never the one to fall in love nor was he interested in marrying someone in particular. So he thought this cannot harm him much but If Manik bhai was to marry her then it would be a life spoiling situation for both the girl and his brother.
Thinking the Pros and Cons like a perfect businessman, he finally felt at peace with the decision he made today. Also he wondered how this girl Meera must look like.
He liked the name her parents chose for her and was expecting her to be like the name suggests. Shy, polite, will she have a beautiful voice and long hair? .... Fair skin ... small height...!. And his imagination went on till he got tired and slept.
Mr. Arora called Mrs. Rashi Sharma to update her about the changes in the groom and to his surprise she agreed happily saying that she only wants what is best for her daughter and she told Mr. Arora that 'she will try her best to convince Meera to marry their younger son as soon as possible'.
Hearing this Mr. Arora told her to take it slow as it is a matter of the girl's life and should be dealt with care and patience. After some more talking they both ended up the call and went to inform their other halves about the conversation.
Mrs. Arora was very happy as now instead of one she will get two daughter-in-laws at once. And Mr. Arora agreed with her on this as he always wanted Meera to become a part of his family.
On the other hand, Mr Raghuvansh Sharma was not happy about this but was tied to years old promise and obligation.
