After reaching her house Meera went to her room and locked herself in. Soon she heard her parents' vehicle enter the gates. Her mother looked upset but calmly told Meera to come to the front porch for some discussion. When Meera reached there she sat on the couch in front of her mother.

"Meera beta, are you ill?" Meera looked at her mom with a confused expression. Sensing no reply from her, Mrs.Rashi continued

"When you left early from Arora's, Akshad beta told us that you were feeling restless and needed some sleep hence your father asked me to leave the remaining preparations to Mrs.Sheetal and we came back to you." playing along with the lie Meera nodded her head and spoke "Don't worry mother I feel refreshed now."

"So, while you were gone we booked the venue 'Sunshine Villa' for the wedding. Akshad must have shared pictures with you. Check your mail once and tell me if you find something missing in that." hearing this tears beamed in Meera's eyes

"Mother, can I avoid this marriage? We can pay their debt by borrowing money from the bank or we can sell the gold jewelleries which I purchased over the years." Meera suggested her mother's voice now heavy due to tears rolling down her cheeks.

Hearing this Mrs Rashi sensed as something must be bothering Meera so without panicking she calmly began "My child, why are you suggesting this now when everything is planned? Anything wrong happened to you today? Is Akshad not treating you well?" Rashi asked her daughter with a worried voice. Meera nodded her head as a 'no', she just hugged her mother and sobbed.

"Oh dear, I know this decision is hard on you. My little baby I am grateful to you that you agreed to marry for your father's promises. Now that engagement is done this marriage became a matter of prestige and respect for our families.

I am afraid we cannot cancel the wedding right now. I request you. Meeru, please communicate with Akshad and sort out the reason behind your argument."

Meera nodded her head as 'yes' and went to get ready. She had plans to meet Rupal today as Rup has a date with her long-time crush. So Meera promised to do her hair and makeup.

Akshad POV

Today, I finally met her. Last month I was out of the country so I could not communicate with her much. "My Sweet Meera", I was so excited to share with her the news of my business expansion. Even I talked with Pandit ji to prepone the wedding date as her cousin Rupal was also going abroad for further studies.

Everything was supposed to go well. But then when she heard the news of us relocating, her pretty smiling face went from happy to angry.

I was working hard for our wedding to be perfect. I do realize that for any girl wedding is the most important event in her life. But Meera did not have the choice. Hence, I wanted to make this like a fairytale for her.

But what did I get in return? After a month of working hard and lots of preparations she came, she slapped, she left. Just like that she left me devastated.

I do not understand why she is unable to support me and stand by my decision. She as my wife should be with my decision as this will benefit in future. Expansion of our business is my topmost priority as that is my responsibility being born in this family.

Honestly, I don't want to get married so soon but due to family obligations I agreed and then meera also charmed her way in my mind in such a short span. I kept trying my best to make things better for both of us in this arrangement.

Today she dared to slap me and even threatened to call off our engagement. Now, I realized that I need to be strict with her as I cannot let down my parents. Until now I was very lenient.

Picking up my phone I typed her a text.

Third Person POV

Conversation:-

7:00pm, Akshad: Hi, are you free?

7:30pm, Meera: Yes.

7:35pm, Akshad: I wanted to talk to you. Can we meet?

7:38pm, Meera: Sure, I will meet you in the park near my house. Within one hour?

7:40pm, Akshad: Okay. See you soon.

With that Meera got ready and changed her clothes. She put on a crop top and high waisted jeans, grabbed her purse and informed her mother and headed to park. She sat on her favorite spot and took a few breaths to calm herself down.

She knew that how she acted today was not fair on him. She had to be more mature while dealing with negative situations. She promised her mother that she will sort things out with Akshad. So, here she was waiting for her to-be husband.

Soon he arrived and went inside the park. When he found her sitting alone on a bench he gently sat beside her and waited for her to speak or apologize.

Feeling his presence Meera spoke "So, what is it that you wanted to talk about?" on that he replied staring at her "Your slap hurt me to my core. My face also hurts. I need you to give me a kiss on my cheek to make it better." he gave her puppy dog look.

Hearing his response she was shocked "I know I overreacted today. Please forgive me, I will never lay a hand on you again. I still want to get married to you." saying this she gave his kisses on his cheeks as a token of apology.

Small smile formed on his face "I do too. I should have communicated my future plans with you earlier only. But I cannot change my plans for expansion as it is too late now. Believe me lakhs of money are at stake right now". He informed her his head was down, his eyes downcast towards the grass.

While driving to park he talked with one of his buddies and he realized that it's a different generation where girls also have their own dreams and he should be considerate about her opinions.

Meera knew that for her family she had to sacrifice her dreams but she was willing to fight one last time for them. "Okay. I will relocate with you and be your support system all my life but I have one condition" nodding his head Akshad asked her "Tell me. I will fulfill all your conditions."

"I will stay with my parents for the next six months after our wedding. Either my blogging venture brings me success or it brings me failure that depends on my krishna. But I promise to come back to you after 6 months are completed."

"No way Meera. As your husband I will not allow you to stay away from me." he said now standing up.

"I beg you Akshad to give me a chance to prove my worth. This blog is something which I am passionate about. For the last 4 years I was working hard and doing research to finally bring my blog to the place of acknowledgement from people." after a pause she continued "I cannot just give up on it now"

Seeing no way out of this situation Akshad made a counter offer "Okay fine, maximum of three months I can give you. We need to also make our parents agree on this. It will be difficult but if you agree to three months then we can make this marriage happen." he told her in a business-like tone.

As a businessman he knew when to surrender and when to put an offer. Seeing some hope Meera without wasting a second agreed to him. Next day they informed their decision to the parents.

After some discussion the parents gave their blessings. Akshad was not happy with this deal but he had no other choice. He was developing some feelings for Meera so he could not let her go away forever. Hence he decided to give her dreams a chance.
