On The Wedding Day

#Haldi_Ceremony

In the early morning around 04:30 am this ceremony took place at both of their houses. By now Akshad was very impatient to meet his bride.

Everyone starting from elders applied Haldi to both of them. Washing off the haldi after the ritual, Meera felt all the stress washing off with it. The coolness of haldi brought a calming sensation all over them.

It is believed that haldi rasam is done in order to prevent evil spirits from harming the to-be-wed couple. As a result, the bride and groom are typically not allowed to leave their home after the haldi ceremony until their wedding mahurat. In Indian customs, turmeric's bright yellow color is highly auspicious.

After the bath, Meera got ready. She wore a blue colored salwar suit and went to Lord Krishna temple with Rupal. After reaching there Rupal did some pooja rituals with her and Meera took the blessings of Lord Krishna. She prayed and asked for nothing but happiness.

After coming back from temple, Meera went to get ready for her wedding look as her beautician just arrived with all the makeup essentials. On the other hand, Mrs Sheetal Arora went to fetch Akshad from his room.

Soon everyone from the groom's side was ready to attend the wedding. Soon Mrs Sheetal and some other ladies completed an important pooja with akshad and tied a turban on his head. His face was then half covered with sehra.

Soon Akshad was made to sit on a horse. And the other relatives started walking towards the venue. The venue was 15 minutes away from Arora Mansion but the dancing and enjoying relatives took almost half hour to reach the venue.

Akshad was not complaining as he enjoyed his ride also he thanked the god for no rains or it would have been a messy day.

Manik was dancing to almost every song like crazy and even he was motivating those fat and lazy relatives to show some moves.

Once the groom team reached the venue the bride team were already at the entrance eagerly waiting to welcome Akshad and his relatives.

Meera's family gives a warm welcome to the excited barati's(group of relatives). Mrs Rashi performed an aarti for Akshad and his parents. The Sharma's then gave a rose and a bengali sweet each to all the barati's. Everyone mingled with each other as all were excited to introduce them to each other.

Akshad personally went to all the elderly men and womens from Meera's family and took their blessings by touching their feet. Soon Rupal took Akshad to his allotted room, he did some touch ups then was taken to the venue.

On the other hand Meera was getting all emotional but somehow managed to get ready and was looking the prettiest in her peach colored lehenga. Soon she was also taken by Rupal to the venue. Both of their eyes locked and a smile formed on their lips.

As per tradition, Meera and Akshad exchange garlands while the priest says mantras. After that they both are made to sit around the fire and begin doing rituals around the havan/fire. Whenever their hand touches Meera's heartbeats increase.

When Akshad accidently touched her waist while posing for some pictures, she shivered slightly. She also realized that sitting here and getting married to Akshad was not that bad. They definitely had some chemistry and attraction towards each other.
