2. Shopping And Reunion

"Meera Di .... Diii...where are you sis? "Rupal came barging into the room screaming loudly.

Meera was finishing getting ready to go shopping with her friends when she heard Rupal screaming her name. 'What happened Rup? How many times should I tell you to stop screaming loudly and start being polite?' 'But why di, I love making noise?' Rupal said, giving Meera puppy eyes. 'Then you should stop dreaming about getting a good husband too, he won't accept this behavior of yours' Meera scolded her.

'We will think about that later," Rupal told her, trying on different shades of lipsticks from the makeup bag. Then suddenly she remembered the reason she came looking for Meera and she sprang up from her vanity chair and started screaming in excitement again saying,

'yayyy yaaaa yaaayy, princess from the castle came running down the hall and saw a frog and yes he who she kissed was the true prince charming' she kept running around the room while Meera was trying to kept her from running. Then finally Rup fell down on the couch from soo much excitement and Meera caged her with both arms.

'That's enough of your drama, just tell me already what happened that got you so excited and full of energy' Meera asked her strictly .

Realizing her angry tone Rup knew that fun was over and it was time to share the mind-blowing news.

And She told Meera about how she was playing sneak peek with Driver uncle's son and then she heard Aunty Rashi screaming on phone telling the other person that she will try and convince Meera to marry their son as soon as possible.

This news blew Meera's mind out quite literally and she stood there dumb founded not believing a word Rup just told. For a few minutes she did not utter another word and her stupid cousin kept blabbing about how happy she is to be able to enjoy a wedding after so long, until she realized Meera has not spoken a thing.

So she asked Meera with worry in her tone, 'What happened di? Are you not happy?'

Meera finally snapped out of her thoughts and put a fake smile on her face like she always used to do when she was either angry or confused to reply to anyone.

'I am not sure how I feel but I am sure mom will do the right thing for me, so we will talk about this later.' She smiled at her and picked up her clutch and went out of her room to go shopping with her friends. Rupal decided to stay back and take a nap before heading to her home.

On her way to the mall, Meera couldn't help but think about what her cousin told her and that got her angry and upset. She knew she had to listen to her mother even if she didn't know why and with whom her mother [Mrs.  Rashi Arora] was planning her wedding. Driver uncle informed her of their arrival at the mall. She thanked him and told him she would catch a cab back home, as she was not sure when she would be back home.

Due to the weekend, there were too many people in the mall today. After searching for 15 min she found her group of friends having chaat [snacks] in the food court. Everyone greeted her, some hugged her. Meera also put on her smile and had snacks with them. After that they went to do some shopping.

After 5 hours:

It was dinner time and everyone was exhausted with all the shopping, hence they went to well-known restaurant 'Sardarji Ka Dhaba' to eat Punjabi Food. Everyone enjoyed their time together and left for home by bidding farewell.

Meera had bought a few shoes and dresses with matching jewelry for one of her relatives' wedding and her office party which she had to attend next week. Hence, she had heavy shopping bags, and one of her friends noticed her struggling and suggested that he will drop her home. She agreed as the cab was showing 20 min away from her location.

During their ride home, they kept chatting about the good old days when they used to tease each other about not being so studious and how they were so carefree of all responsibilities.

Saying their goodbyes, Meera opened the porch gate and entered the house.

As soon as she entered, her mother was giving her angry looks. She had no idea why, so she ignored me and started to go to her room. Before she could go in, Her mother called after her, 'Wait Meera.'

Meera turned leaving her bags in the doorway to her room. She went back to the living room and stood before her mother ,'Yes Mother, did I do something to upset you?' She asked, noticing her mother's foul mood.

'Who was that boy you came with?' 'Just my school friend Amit, Why what happened?' Meera asked her mother confused.

'Meera baby, it is not wise to hang out with unknown or random guys at night. Did you see the time?' Her mother said more softly. Meera nodded her head slightly, noticing the time was 11:30 at night. She did not realize that before.

'Sorry mother, I lost count of the time. It won't happen again.' Meera told her mother. To which Mrs Rashi Sharma nodded her head and went back to her room.

Meera locked the porch gate and front door then picked up her shopping bags and went to her room. Putting her bags in the cupboard she took a shower and changed into her nightgown. Going to bed, she checked her social media messages and updates.

Soon her eyes gave up and she went to a tireless sleep, completely forgetting about what she heard today. She was content with her day and had so much fun with her friends to care about her worries.
