'One week' went by, Meera did not dare ask her mother about marriage news she heard from her cousin, Rashi was also giving her some time and thinking of ways to break this news to her daughter.

But today she had to tell Meera, as tomorrow was the day when Arora would come to meet her daughter and confirm the engagement date.

After gaining some courage she went to Meera who was currently watering plants in the garden. Every weekend Meera would love to take care of her plants by giving them fertilizers, cutting and maintaining their shape. She loved being with plants and they always helped her calm down.

'Meera beta ...I want to talk with you about something!' Mrs. Rashi Sharma called her from behind, 'Yes Mother' Meera turned towards her mother with a smile on her face as she had just planted a marigold plant in the medium lit place by the entrance gate.

'As you know we always tried to give you everything you need, but there were times when your father could not fulfill the basic needs of our family.' Meera nodded her head remembering her tough childhood.

'During one such time, your father had to make a deal with the devil himself to save us from getting on the street by losing our house.'

Hearing this Meera was shocked as she did not remember such a time to arrive in their family. She knows her father worked hard to achieve this much luxurious life but she couldn't recall such a time where they were in this big crisis.

Fake tears in her eyes Rashi continued to tell her daughter this fake sob story, she could not reveal the real reason as she did not want her daughter to hate her father.

'I know you must be shocked to hear this but the important part is there was a deal made according to which we have to marry our first born daughter in their family '

Hearing this Meera realized what her mother was getting to and all the marriage talk started to make sense.

'But mother, how can I marry a stranger just like that?' Meera asked, tears forming in her eyes, she was not sure how to handle this situation.

'My lovely daughter, you are not alone in this. Besides the family you are going to marry are very good people only the circumstances in which this deal happened were horrible. Also their son Akshad is a very successful man and has high values.' Mrs. Sharma tried to comfort her daughter.

Meera tried to protest against her marriage but her mother kept telling her that if they don't do as per the deal the consequences can destroy everyone she loves as the groom's family 'Arora's' may be good people but if something happens against their will then, they have power to destroy the entire city.

Hearing this Meera thought to herself that she cannot endanger everyone's lives for her own selfish desires to be successful and marry for love.

'Okay mother, I will marry in this family but first I want to meet their son.'

'Of course beta, tomorrow they are coming to our house to meet you. Take leave for tomorrow from your office and cancel any plans if there are.'

Saying this her mother went inside the house to make arrangements for tomorrow.

Meera was left with her own thoughts about her wedding and the people she was going to meet. What if those people rejected her and demanded their money back? Heck she did not even know how much money they owe the family or even what they owe is money or any other thing?

She thought tomorrow was too soon... she cannot prepare herself to be bride worthy in such a short time, but she was determined to prove her worth.

After few hours,

Meera was ready to go to bed, she had taken leave from office for tomorrow and postponed her plan to visit 'Animal Shelter'. She was so nervous for tomorrow, but she had planned out all the questions to ask Akshad.

Thinking about all the possibilities for different answers, she went to sleep.
