Finally today is the day of 'Kurmai' i.e. Engagement,

Akshad is having pretty mixed feelings about this. He definitely doesn't love Meera to moon-and-back and he does not have a hate-till-i-die feeling for her either. All he feels is great respect for Meera as an individual.

He loves the way she carries her personality. Always loving and kind towards others but very feisty when angry. Even though on this occasion they will partly get tied to each other, Akshad wants to let her be free in making her own choices. He is not that guy who will put restrictions on others.

Mr. Verma made a fake coughing sound and Akshad came out of his thoughts.

"Verma! What brings you here?" Akshad asked his PA with a raised eyebrow.

"Sir, Vimal ji is asking for your whereabouts. He ordered me to bring you to the ring ceremony."

Verma told Akshad keeping his eyes lowered, no-one knows better than him that Akshad does not like it when people start giving orders.

Sighing and giving himself a final look in the mirror, Akshad soon went out for the destination. As he reached the place, he saw that all the festivities had begun already and the guests were all seated and started having starters also.

Soon his eyes roamed around the place and landed on someone beautiful who was wearing an auspicious aura all around her. One word escaped his mouth 'Meera'

As if Meera felt his gaze, she raised her eyes and both their eyes met for a few seconds. She blushed and refocused her attention on the ceremony.

After praying to God in nearby temple,

Akshad's mother and to-be sister-in-law returned to the venue. Mrs. Sheetal Arora carried some jewelry boxes and some sweets she brought straight from temple towards Meera.

She then helped Meera wear traditional kada (bangles) and a beautiful gold necklace. Sheetal also asked Meera to wear an ornate red dupatta (mata ki chunri) and offered sweets to her.

Akshad's eyes were only focused on Meera's blushing face the whole time.

Then Mr. Raghuvansh Sharma came to fetch him on stage and he had to focus on his side of the ceremony.

On the other hand, when Mrs Sheetal Arora was putting 'payal'(anklets) on Meera's feet she felt that the gaze had been lifted off her. You may call it sixth sense but girls always get a weird feeling whenever someone has their gaze on them.

Soon Meera is all dolled up in mata ki chunar and all the jewelleries.

Mr. Raghuvansh Sharma put a tika on Akshad's forehead and soon Meera & Akshad both were standing on stage with their parents.

Everyone gathered beside the stage, both the mothers handed the rings to our sweet couple. Meera felt so blessed as she remembered how Akshad had taken care of bills on their jewelry shopping spree. Beside Meera, Rupal & her best friend Riya were grinning ear-to-ear.

Seriously, those two R's looked like they found some treasure but they were just happy for Meera. But Meera was having second thoughts about this as she was not sure if Akshad was the right person for her.

She knew this was not the right time to think all this. But she wondered 'What if he is the bad guy like she thought at first and this loving & caring nature is just an act to get her trapped?'

Not wanting to be negative Meera quickly put a smile on her face and acted normal.

Soon the couple exchanged 'promise rings' & their fathers Mr Vimal & Mr Raghuvansh exchanged 'garlands' as a token of acceptance.

After 1 hour and lots of photos,

They all sat down for dinner. By now all the guests had left, only family members stayed back. While eating dessert Meera received a ping on her phone and Akshad poked her arm to prompt her to read it. Meera ignored him as all eyes were on her and people were saying one thing or other to her not giving her any space.

After wrapping up the gifts received, they all bid their goodbyes. Meera went to wish good night to Akshad who was standing by his car talking on phone but Akshad after disconnecting the call did not even turn to look at her. He just nodded his head and with a 'grumpy 80 yr old' look he just went in the car and soon drove off .

Meera did not get a chance to ask him the reason for being in a foul mood. After reaching home, she finally got time to be alone and check the message he shared with her. Then after reading the message she realized that she must have made him angry by ignoring his wishes.

She quickly typed an apology to him and went to sleep as she was very tired.
