"Huh." Toni grunted. She rolled over on her mum's bed, propping a pillow under her arm, so she was laid on her back, staring at the ceiling. "I can't believe you're choosing your invoices and accounts over me."

"I'm not choosing anything over you, I have to do this tonight, you know how confusing these things get if you leave it to someone else," her mum said, definitely still glaring at the paper in front of her.

"Whatever!" She rolled her eyes and picked up her phone from where she had dumped it on the bed.

She finally decided to switch it on after seconds of staring at it in her hand, at least Dare should have stopped with his calls by now. She didn't know what he wanted, he hadn't called her ever since the day she confronted him, and now he was. Immediately her phone had booted, she went over to Twitter, the home of savages. Apparently she was the one trending currently in Nigeria, she wondered why at first, but wondered no more when she saw a picture of herself at her mum's store, talking to the girl she had fired. She had thought no pictures were taken, but who knew humans could be so discreet.

Toni scrolled downward to check out some of the tweets, and fortunately for her, no one was blasting her about her looks, they were more happy that she was in Nigeria, some even went as far as saying she was a goddess without makeup. That, Toni knew was true, but what she couldn't accept was the harsh words being thrown at the girl, they were all trolling the girl she had fired, calling her all sorts of name. Toni didn't like this one bit, she knew what it was like to be at the receiving end of the internet's fury, and she knew for someone who wasn't a celebrity it would be hard for the girl to take. Now this was why she hated all things that had to do with media, no one really cares about what the other is going through.

She left Twitter and went to check her emails, she saw several mails from her manager, Max, and as usual it was script for movies she had being casted in. There was a serial script also in it, Toni felt anger boil within her, if there was one thing Max knew clearly, it was the single fact that she always rejected all series. He should have gotten the memo now and stop sending this damn scripts to her. She thought about going through some of the scripts to check out the ones she might possibly accept, but no. Right now, she didn't want to think about work.

She ended up switching off her phone once again, then she dumped it back on the bed. "Mum, can I get a small phone from you? One that has no form of internet."

"A small phone? Why?" Her mum questioned.

"I just need some time alone, away from my work, and the internet." She rolled over, laying on her stomach. She looked at her mum who had dropped the invoice and was now looking at her. "The small phone is so that you and Yeni can be able to call me when you need me."

Her mum smiled. "Alright, I have one somewhere on my dressing table, it's that old Nokia phone I got for your sister before."

Toni laughed, remembering the look of horror Yeni had when their mum had presented the phone to her as a birthday gift on her sixteen birthday. Thank God she had gotten her an iPhone as a gift then and not listened to their mum when she said she got the phone aspect covered, if not no one would have slept well in the house that night. "That will be fine."

Toni got off the bed, sauntering over to the dressing table to find the phone, she didn't need to look far as the phone was still in the pack, which was quite noticable. She opened it up with a smile, feeling how light the phone was, she asked. "Where's the battery?"

"It's in the pack also, I had to take it out to avoid swelling. I keep it charged though," her mum answered.

She fished out the battery, then climbed back on the bed. She took out her private sim card from her Samsung phone, the only people she wanted to hear from were her sister and mum, and maybe Nasir. For some reason she had called him with her private number, not the other one she saves for people that are not family. She rid her mind off the thought of Nasir, and instead focused on what she was doing. Once she had fixed the phone up, she switched it on with a bright smile, then raised her head up to find that her mum had set aside what she was doing, and was now watching her with a look of interest.
