Kano, Nigeria.

Toni Davies took off her sunshade to stare at the magnificent building before her, 'The Abubakars Conglomerate Headquarters,' situated in the heart of Kano Muncipal, Kano city. Her heart picked up pace as her hand sought out her baby, she didn't know what to expect. Her mind was addled up with several frustrating scenarios, she wasn't even sure if Nasir would be there, or if the Nasir she saw on the magazine was really her Nasir, it could be a dopple ganger. A part of her wanted to run back to New York right this instant and go nurse her wound in isolation, but nonetheless she was doing this.

She hadn't woken up so early, came all the way to Kano, only to chicken at the sight of some humongous building. Toni took a glance at her silver wristwatch to find out that the time was 9:30 am. She had taken the 7:00 am flight, and arrived at MAKIA (Aminu Kano International Airport) at exactly 8:34 am, this means it took her about an hour to finally find where the headquarters of the 'Abubakar Conglomerate' was. It had being a hard fit to achieve since she couldn't speak in Hausa and it took her several minutes before she could explain herself to her designated driver, it wasn't until the security came in to help that she finally got to leave the airport. And she didn't do all this for nothing, she was here to see Nasir, and she needed to do this if she was ever going to move on with her life just like he has done with his.

She put her shades back on, and strutted into the building. She wasn't the least bit surprised when most of the movements seized and all eyes focused on her. She knew it was a sight to behold, Toni Davies at Kano, she didn't even feign surprise when some phones were brought out. Right now she didn't care if pictures were taken or not.

She made her way towards the receptionist whose mouth was wide agape, staring at her. The lady was dressed in black suit, and had her white veil tucking into her white shirt. Toni knew she needed to get use to the fact that the major religion in Kano was Islam. That also explained the reason most eyes were on her at the airport also, she was dressed in a knee-length body con blue gown that did nothing to hide her shape. The neckline was heart shaped and exposed some amount of cleavage, the silver necklace that ran in between her breast didn't make this any better. Her white fox lox had being styled into a high bun, but it had some strand falling across her face, her make up was minimal but nonetheless pretty. To complete this look she had on white heels, and a white handbag. This actually made her stand out in a sea of people who adorned ankle length abayas, and veils to cover their heads.

"Hello..." Toni stared at her badge to get her name. "Miss. Amina."

"Toni Davies," Miss. Amina said, slightly squealing. "I'm sorry, Salam Alaykum, Ma'am. How may I help you?"

Toni smiled at the lady who looked flushed, and didn't show an hint of surprise at her way of greeting. It was indeed expected that the normal way of greeting in this place would be the Islamic way. "I'm here to see your CEO, Nasir Abubakar."

The lady's eyes went wide like saucers. "Do you have an appointment, Ma'am."

Toni smiled, now this was where she'd have to use her charm. "No, I don't, but it's quite urgent. I leave for New York anytime soon, I'm pretty sure your boss won't like it if he finds out the reason he didn't get to see me was because one of his employees thought I couldn't because of some measly appointment."

"Uhm, okay," she said nervously. "His office is on the twentieth floor, last door on the right, you can take the private elevator." She pointed to the last elevator on the roll, far away from the rest that had at least one person queueing in front of it.

"Thanks, Miss. Amina," Toni said, awarding her a smile before she turned on her heels and walked over to the elevator. Toni got in and pressed the button for the twentieth floor, and just as she did so, her heart began hammering in her chest. Damn, she was so nervous. She wondered how he would react, and what he would say when he saw her. She wasn't expecting anything good, but a part of her hoped, for herself, and for her baby sake.
