Nasir paced around the sitting room, his mind all over the place. He couldn't find Omotoni, the car she had left with had being parked at the side of the road when he found it. The bag she had left with had being in the car, but her phone hadn't been there, and she wasn't either. He hadn't found her anywhere. He had checked all the surrounding areas, drove around for hours, but still no sight of his wife. This was driving him crazy, he would never be able to forgive himself if anything happened to Omotoni. The hell, he couldn't live without her.

He ran his hand through his head, thinking of what to do when Ummu came into the house with anger radiating all over her body.

"You both were going to divorce her and give her child to Azeezat!" Ummu yelled in Hausa, glaring at him and his Uncle.

"Aisha, calm down," his uncle said.

"You want me to calm down? One of my daughters is missing, do not forget that she is also carrying my granddaughter in her womb," Ummu screamed. Nasir always knew Ummu considered Omotoni her daughter, although he always wondered why she liked her so much.

"We should both be trying to calm Nasir, it's his pregnant wife that's missing," his uncle said, still in a calm voice.

"He doesn't deserves to be comforted!" Ummu stared daggers into Nasir's face. "If he had the guts to plan to divorce her and give my granddaughter to that fish head Azeezat, then he should be hanged to death."

"Ummu, please," Nasir pleaded with his mum. He really couldn't take her nagging now, the thought of Omotoni missing still scares him so much. And remembering how hurt she had looked when she left still tore at his heart.

"Please what?" She asked, stalking towards him. "How do we find her now? She practically knows no places in Kano."

"I have gotten the police on this, Ummu," Nasir said.

"If anything happens to my daughter or granddaughter, I swear to Allah, I will never forgive you, Nasir. Never!" Ummu stomped her feet on the ground to emphasize her point.

"I will never be able to forgive myself too, Ummu! I'll never! Ya Allah!" He rubbed his hand over his face, while aslo trying to stop the tears that threatened to fall.

Ummu stood still, watching him with mouth agape. "If you love her, then why do this to her?"

"I...I..." Nasir stuttered out, not knowing how to explain his foolishness to his mother. He stopped whatever he was about to say when he heard his phone ring in his pocket. He brought it out eagerly, expecting it to be the police with news, but it was Azeezat. What does she want?

Nasir ignored the call. He knew he should probably pick it up since Azeezat has never called him before, if she was doing so now, then it had to be important. But not right now, he'd call her back when he has gotten his wife back safe and sound.

Ummu shook her head, giving him a sad look as she went to sit down, but vert far away from his uncle. Nasir still couldn't bring himself to sit. He kept on expecting the police to call him, but all he got was more annoying calls from Azeezat, which he kept on ignoring.

Some minutes later he heard footsteps approaching, he looked at the door expectantly, thinking it was the police. Both Ummu and his uncle also got up, Nasir was sure it was for the same reason. But when the door finally opened, it wasn't the police, it was Azeezat.

Anger swelled through him as he turned to glare at his uncle, believing that his uncle must have said something to Azeezat to make her come here, but his uncle shrugged his arms to show that he was innocent. Nasir didn't buy it though, the man was mischievous.
