It'd been a few days and Harry hadn't said anything else about the case. I'd show up to his study, and we'd go over whatever was the topic for the day, then he'd have me answer a few questions. He'd be vocal when I was wrong, but would only offer a curt nod when I was right. I'd called him out on it a few times, but it only became a small joke.

I decided that he'd either A, forgotten about the entire thing. Or B, was working in silence. If he was, this was killing me. If it took this long just to find out who it was, god knows how long everything else would take.

"Do you have any plans for the night?" I ask Styles as he locks up behind me. I knew he rarely left at the same time I did. But these last few days were different. I'd make a habit of asking him what his plans were. Maybe he'd finally tell me he found something. All this waiting was starting to take a toll on me.

"The usual."

"And what's that?"

"Stuff." His green eyes find mine and he gives a sarcastic smile before swooping his arm under, gesturing for me to go. I begin down that hallway, subconsciously slowing down so he doesn't end up too far behind me.

"What about you?" He glances towards me.

"I have a dinner with Ryder and his family."

"Oh, like a date?"

I scoff, "No, he's gay. But his family doesn't know, so."

"Ah, well that's nice of you."

We approach the foyer and I look at the brown receptionists desk in the middle of the room to see that it's rid of Sharon's presence. My eyes wander back to Harry since he's slowed down and I notice that he shakes his head at the sight. His jaw tightened as he began to chew the gum he had a bit harder. I'm confused, she was just here earlier.

"Where's your mom?"

"Who knows."

"Well, I hope she's okay." I tuck run my fingers through my hair to push it back. Harry scoffs and continues towards the doors. The air was cool and humid, paired with grayish-blue skies. It felt quiet outside, like something was coming.

I see Ryder's Hyundai parked in the fire zone and roll my eyes.

"She's fine. I'll see you next week." He steps off of the curb.

"Hey!" I call out as I'm watching his long legs stride across the parking lot. He squints into the invisible yet blinding sunset to look back at me, his face tugged into confusion.

"If you find anything, you'll tell me, right?"

His lips press together in close lipped smile.

 "Of course."

Harry.

I sat in the Cadillac, watching the 2015 Hyundai peel out of the parking lot. After moving forward and violently reversing, he finally manages to jerk the car out. My eyes follow them passed the shrubs until they reach the nearby stoplight. Through the window, I see her friend talking dramatically. Though I've yet to hear his voice, it looked loud.

Before I bring the car to life, I decide to check my emails one last time for the night. But when I reach in my coat pocket for the small Iphone, a small frown etches onto my face at it's absence. I must have left it in the study. For a brief moment, I think about forgetting about it until next Monday.
