"I'm not doing that!" I yell, unable to control the cracking of my voice. My hands come to my hair and I resist the urge to tug it from the roots.

"Listen to me man, you have to. If you don't, we're both out. I'm responsible for you, what don't you understand about that?"  Jason snaps, his hand slapped against my cheek in an attempt to shake the cowardness out of me. It won't help. Nothing will fucking help. I shouldn't have done this. What the hell was I thinking, getting involved in this shit?

"I don't want to hurt anyone," I exasperate, my pleading eyes meeting my friends. He could only shake his head. I bring my hand to the stinging area on my face and he turns around, setting his own hands on his hips, "Fuck!"

"What are we gonna do?"

"I don't know."

Logan.

I wanted to call Ryder, I did. But I knew there was no way I could pretend everything was normal. Harry told me I shouldn't ask him about anything until we had more information, and that worried me. What information did he expect to find? I knew there was something about this frat that he was hiding from me.

"Logan, get up, come on." Ellen yells over the loud vacuum. It was now Monday. Meaning I'd gone about two days without talking to my best friend and it took a toll on me.

"Why are you vacuuming so early?" I mumble, pulling the sheets from over my head and squinting at the harsh sun that beamed through the bedroom. "I can't hear you over the sound of your lazy ass sulking in that damn bed." She yells back, motioning towards her ear and continuing to move the vacuum back and forth, hitting the corner of my bed each time.

As much as I love my mother, she knows how to get on my fucking nerves.

"Can you stop? My gosh." I groan and toss my feet over the bed. With everything going on, I didn't want to deal with her. I trudge to the bathroom connected to the room, making sure to slam the door shut so that I could only hear the dull humming.

I decide to take the longest shower possible to avoid any further interaction with her. The water is warm and wakes me up. After washing my face and brushing my teeth, I grab a towel from the back of the door and wrap it around my body. As I exit the restroom, I kick the clothes from the night before in the corner, telling myself I'd get them later.

As I'm pulling the familiar gray hoodie over my head, I hear my phone ding, signifying a text messsage.

It's got to be Ryder.

What will I tell him? I can't keep ignoring his messages, soon enough, he'll come here. Then my mothers will know something is up.

704-564-**** : Is this Logan?

My brows furrow at the unfamiliar number.

Me: Who is this?

Just as I toss the phone onto the bed, the phone goes off once more.

704-564-****: My name is Iris. I knew your mother.

It was then that I decide to ignore the message. Ellen and her reputation always had people feeling like they knew her family just as well as her. Even Sharon.
