The eyes that pinned us were almost deadly, I supposed that they were also in the same situation as we were - Transported into an unfamiliar Japan devoid of human existence, however, that so called empty Japan was being challenged now as we faced people. It was nice to see people, it was refreshing and almost reassuring that the place wasn't completely abandoned and left for dead.
We had walked together up the stairs, Chishiya and I, once we saw the abundance of people waiting around he looked towards me in a frantic manner. "Y/n"
I looked at him, a relieved smile on my face, it almost felt nice that he came to turn to me amongst the unfamiliarity of the situation despite being here for less than a day. It was nice to think he still came to me... Although he only had me, "What is it?"
"Stick by me, okay?" He said, shuffling a little closer as he walked beside me.
"Why?" I hummed and I found myself pausing in my footsteps, the boy glanced towards the people waiting - They seemed to have phones in their hands and I wondered if maybe they had reception from the building they were waiting outside -the building that we were led towards - and I couldn't help but presume they too were led here the same way Chishiya and I were with the bright lights.
I felt a little flutter of my heart, I felt somewhat nervous with his close proximity to my body, his soft voice sent a cold shiver down my spine and I felt captivated my his words.
He was certainly addictive.; Like that of a game.
"I don't feel good about this y/n" He stated honestly and I immediately knew from his uneasy stance and voice change that something just wasn't right, his attitude was enough to throw me off too.
I trusted Chishiya with my life, I always had since the first time I met him, and I trusted his intuition. I never understood why, maybe it was his twisted actions and the way he stuck up for himself. I simply looked at him, I could feel myself nod, "I understand... Let's play the game, win and walk out"
He nodded, a small smile twitching it's way onto his pretty face. "We'll do it together too, since we came here together"
"It can't be that hard" I stated, and I walked forwards with the boy beside me, his presence gave me a surge of safety and calmness.
We walked up the stairs together, finding that with a small ding ringing through our ears we both turned around frantically, the strange noise sounded us as if was directly in my ear; I could almost feel it.
"What was that?" I hummed as curiosity ate me alive, I was on the verge of crying - I couldn't understand why, but I could only presume that the abnormal situation was beginning to get to me now.
"Not sure" Chishiya muttered simply, and he turned around facing the people calmly before walking off, Chishiya picked up the phones neatly placed on the table.
It seemed that it was one per person, but Chishiya grabbed 2 - One for himself and one for me which he handed to me carefully.
The boy had always presented himself to be mysterious, and that's the reason that he most likely didn't place his soft blonde almost silver hair behind his ear, his hair fell over his face and he didn't look at the eyes that pinned over him. I suppose that he wanted to present himself as someone who was tough, someone who understood just what was happening when, like me, he was completely clueless.
I held the phone tightly, allowing it to emit a pinging sound that represented the fact that 'facial recognition' was completed, and I glanced nervously at Chishiya who seemed to keep up the hard front that he usually had. I realised that maybe I had familiarised myself with his shyer and softer side as we were stuck in this world, however, I was reminded of the fact that he was quite cold hearted.
"Chishiya" I hummed softly, "Shouldn't we ask them what's going on?" I asked, I asked after noticing that the phone I held seemed to work, despite the fact that it displayed that it had no internet. I wondered why the phones were handed to us if they would have access to no internet, just what was the use of the phones if they had no access to internet.
Chishiya shook his head, and he stood closer next to me it almost seemed as if he was protecting me, I felt my heart beat pick up at that prediction but I shook it away quickly - Just why would Chishiya try and protect me when he would do what he usually did; protect himself before anyone else. "Don't bother" Stated the male as he lifted up his head, I followed suit finding that I gazed over the individuals standing with us.
The majority of them seemed to look quite dirty, their outfits stained with mud and water but I couldn't help but find myself finding the blood splattered upon some of their clothing, the blood seemed to have stained a few of their outfits and as I met their eyes they seemed to be dull, devoid of any life.
Each individual standing around us seemed beaten down, they seemed to look rather monotonous and lost, frowns stained their tired faces and their lips were chapped, I suppose that the world we were in was hard to live in... but I wondered just why it looked as if they had been here more than a day, if we only just arrived surely they arrived at the same time as us but why? Why did it look like they had been here for longer than that?
Just what was going on?
The phone in my hand rung again, and I noticed that the screen lit up white, similar to what I had seen on the large screen that led us to this place, the writing was black too.
GAME START!
It seemed the phone spoke too, and I couldn't help but glance towards Chishiya, I found that my calmness was found when I met his oaky brown eyes.
It almost felt as if I was back in the arcade, it almost felt as if I was going to play with Chishiya again.
I just hoped that in this one we would be able to win together.
