Part I

So this is how it began. His name was Mason. He wasn't that cute, or smart, or tough, or anything special. He was extremely ordinary and maybe that's what made him seem special to me, because I saw what nobody else did. I saw the depth that was hidden behind the average, and more than anything I saw him. He wasn't just some guy, he meant something to me but I just hadn't figured it out yet. I thought he saw beneath my abrasive exterior, and I thought I meant more to him. I guess I was wrong. I don't think he ever expected it to go this far, because if he had I don't think he would have ever sent me that one text that started it all.

It was a Friday afternoon, and school had just ended. I was waiting for my parents to pick me up, and as usual I was sitting in the corner avoiding the general population. If you were part of my grade you would understand why I avoid almost all of them. I was just sitting there on my phone when i got a message, it said, "Hi".

Yea, I know that's kinda of a let down, but that's what happened. He being the idiot that he was sent me this text from across the room. Obviously I responded and was super confused. You see he had never texted me before, yet this one random afternoon when he was about eight feet away from me he suddenly wanted to talk. I just didn't get it. We continued talking for a while until my parents came.

I left that afternoon thinking nothing of it, but that weekend he started texting me again. We kept on talking and eventually the time came where we got to the subject of who we like. I knew from the first year that we were in the same grade that he had liked Erica.

Let me just tell you all something about Erica right now. She seems really nice, and she is most of the time, but Erica is one of the most two faced people that you'll ever meet. She is totally cool with you but the next minute she'll turn around and tell her friends everything you have ever told her. As you may have already guessed I hate her. ALOT.

Anyway, he asked me who I liked, if you knew me well you would know that I do not give up this information easily considering I'm the flirt so I like everyone. I refused to tell Mason unless he told me, but really I already new the answer. Truth is everyone knew the answer. He was so obvious, but then again was I really one to talk. One thing that I have always hated about myself is that everyone always seems to know my secrets before I know them myself.

We both finally caved that afternoon and said who we liked, but naturally I made him go first. Like I expected he said Erica... but he also mentioned me. That really took me by surprise, first we go from barely talking, to apparently he liked me. Me being the idiot that I am said that Iiked him to but just a little, even though that wasn't completely true. That was my first major mistake. If I had said I didn't like him then maybe I wouldn't be where I am right now. But either way this is the story so settle in and hold on tight.
