There Is No Happy Ending

Part 16

Hey guys, please don't kill me (I'm talking to you dauntlessfierce). I'm sorry it took so long to update. This is a sort of filler chapter but some interesting stuff is coming soon. I'm also thinking that right now I'm about halfway through (and I still don't know if I want to do a sequel, depends on how I end it). Anyways, sorry took so long (I was super sick) but I'm already working on another part just for you guys.

Kat's POV:

He wants me to be his wife, seriously, I mean I know he saved my life and all but we haven't even gone on a proper first date or even thought about it.

"So... is this how you were planning to propose? Because if I'm being honest, I am very underwhelmed."

"Oh my god... no Kat. I'm not asking you to marry me. I'm just suggesting that we pretend that you are my wife so that my brother doesn't... you know... kill you. Because if and when he finds out that your human then he will defiantly kill you."

"But Mason, I'm not human." I whisper that last part just in case his super suspicious brother decides to pop by again. 

"Yeah Kitty Kat I know, but that's even more of a reason to do this. And trust me that would not have been how I propose to you."

"Pr-propose? You want to... propose to me?"

"Well yeah, eventually. I mean I'm pretty sure that you are my life mate."

"Life mate? Mason what are you talking about? I know that I'm not completely human and have some special stuff about me or whatever but finding that out doesn't me that I suddenly became graced with the knowledge of all your damn vampire lingo."

Wow, I don't think I have ever snapped at him and just recently I snapped... multiple times. But the thing is that he doesn't understand. He doesn't understand what it's like to have everything you have ever know completely stripped away from you, to lose everyone and everything you have ever known. He has no idea and Mason seems to make no attempt to try and understand.

"Kat I know your upset and hurt, and I know that you think I don't understand but I do. I don't understand everything you have gone through and certainly not the amount of time you have had to go through it... but I do understand somethings."

"Really Mason... well if you understand so very much then please enlighten me. What have you gone through that even resembles the things that you have put me through."

"Well... first of all, I lost both of my parents just like you. And I have had to live almost my entire life pretending to be normal in the human world when clearly I am not. But worst of all... I had to lie to you."

That was the sweetest response Mason could have given and I can seem in his eyes that he is apologetic, but instead of saying that my mouth and mind working in cahoots had other plans.

So I said "Bull shit. If you truly loved me you would have told me sooner. If you truly loved me you wouldn't have let my parents get killed, or let me be attacked, or any of this. None of this would have happened if you had just told me. But no... you didn't. So I say Bull shit."

At first he seemed hurt, and then confused, and then almost... guilty.

He moved forwards, wrapped his arms around me and held me tight while saying

" Kitty Kat, I know you don't mean that. And I promise that from now on I will tell you everything and anything... no matter what. And this starts right now, which includes the reason why I know you didn't mean that.

I can hear your thoughts."

"What?!?!?"

"Yea Kat, I can read your thoughts. It's because I was the one that turned you. Let me explain... since I am a vampire, especially because I'm pure, I provide you with power and we have an unbreakable bond. Literally till death do us part.-" he is still as funny as ever "-Anyways, I can hear your thoughts. And no its not all the time, just when I want to. I have control over it and if I'm being completely honest... once you adjust to your powers you will be able to block it if you really need to."

"Thank you for telling me."

"Your not upset?"

"No, because you told me."

All I need from him is the truth.
