Mason's POV:

I really thought Kat would freak out and try to run away or something, but instead she just ran up and threw her arms around me. It really seemed like she understood why I did what I did, but something still felt off.

Kat said "That was for saving me, and that was for turning me without me permission".

She slapped me. And damn it hurt. She's stronger than I thought.

"Now we are even, so bite me" she said. I don't think I will ever understand her. One minute she is acting like some scared and innocent little girl, but the next she acts like... like... like me. She doesn't let anything stand in her way, and a little fear was never one to stop her from being who she truly is. Just a few more reasons why I know she was meant to be mine, and I will never let her go.

I said, "Kat are you sure about this. I need to do this soon but I don't have to do it now if you are unsure or scared".

"You need to do it now. So go. I'm not afraid." she said, as she tilted her head to the side giving me full access to her neck.

As I was about to make to puncture I whispered " Everything will be okay, I promise. I love you."

Kat's POV:

In that moment where his sharp fangs met my soft skin, I just thought I would die right then and there. At first it just felt like someone casting a spell on me and setting me into a deep and peaceful sleep. But from there everything went downhill.

It hurt. It hurt more than anyone could ever imagine. Like being stabbed a thousand times over and over, while a bunch of people are beating you up, and now multiply that by three thousand. And that's not even close. I'm sorry I'm going on and on about this but honestly you won't ever understand until it happens to you.

So anyways, it felt like that for even longer than i can imagine and then suddenly eveything went black.

That's all I remember........

I don't know when i woke up again but it felt like it had been years, centuries, decades.

And when I finally managed to open my eyes I looked over and saw the same thing as the first time I woke up like this. I saw Mason, sitting there with tears still streaming don his face. He was also my hand that had gone limp.
At first he seemed to have no idea I was awake, and I couldn't muster the strength to move. It was as if my entire body was frozen.
So I coughed and spoke in a short whisper "Hi"

When Mason looked up it looked as though he had seen a ghost. He immediately jumped onto me with a bigger hug than I ever could have imagined.

But why?

Mason's POV:

I thought I lost her.

And I thought it was all my fault.

She was the only person I had ever loved in all my time on this earth, and I almost lost her forever.

Kat said "Hi" and I had nothing to say. I just hugged her and kissed her because that's all I could do not to just break down and sob with her.

When she spoke in her raspy and hoarse tone I knew that I could never let her slip away again.

And I am not one to show that much emotion, but with Kat all of those reservation go out the window.
