Layla's P.O.V.:
I was standing on the balcony of the hospital room Ash was in currently, just watching the cars roll by below me, I had skipped school today as well and I'm pretty sure once I get home I was going to get a stern talking to from Cass, but I hope she understands.
After the check up the doctor did this morning he told me that Ash might wake up today or tomorrow at most which I was very excited about. Finally I'm going to see her beautiful eyes again. I can't wait to see her smile when I tell her that I love her too.
A voice from inside broke me from my thoughts as I turned around to see Ashley's parents there.
"There you are Layla, what were you doing?" Her mom was the one that spoke.
"Thinking."
"Oh alright dear. Have you heard the good news?"
"About Ash? Yes, I hope she wakes up today, I miss her."
"We know sweetheart, we miss her a lot as well. At least she is no longer in any danger." Mr. Taylor spoke out.
I nodded, turning to face the angel sleeping on the bed just in time as I saw her move a bit and her eyes started to twitch.
"Ash?" I whispered, hope overtaking my voice.
As if she heard me her eyes opened slowly but closed back immediately after and I assumed it was because of the bright light in the room.
I went to turn them off as soon as I saw that letting the light from outside illuminate the room instead, and she started to sit up slowly as her mom went to help her up and her dad called a doctor over.
I was holding my self back from just jumping at her and hugging her when the doctor came in to confirm if she was okay yet or not.
As he finished and gave his okay for everything, telling them that she has recovered and no permanent damage was done, her parents along with the doctor went outside to sign her release papers at her request of wanting to go home.
All this time I was sitting in the corner listening to them speak and went unnoticed by my girlfriend who was more focused on the story of what happened to her, but as soon as the door was closed behind them, and seeing that she wasn't in any obvious pain, I ran to her and jumped on the bed hugging her tightly to me as if I was going to loose her at any second.
She was surprised at first but as soon as she recognized me she returned the hug with a little less force seeing as she has just woken up.
"Hey Lili." I couldn't suppress my tears anymore after I heard that nickname and she noticed immediately. "Honey no, please don't cry, I'm right here, I'm okay."
She lifted my head up with her fingers and made me look directly into her brown eyes, the same eyes that haunted my thoughts every day. They were filled with this emotion that I just recently learned that I had for her. Love.
With that look she gave me I couldn't hold it back anymore as the words came out of my mouth on their own.
"I love you Ash, and the thought that I might loose you finally made me realize that. I'm sorry I took so long, I just..." I was cut off by her lips pressing firmly against mine, and I returned the kiss with more passion than I ever had before as she fell back on the bed and heled me firmly in her arms, not breaking the kiss at all.
My hands were playing with her hair which had a lot of knots from the time she had spent sleeping but I didn't give it another thought for I was just enjoying the moment we were sharing.
It ended way too soon because we both had to breath eventually as we parted and I placed my head on her shoulder breathing heavily.
"I love you too, so much. Let's go home. yeah?"
As if on cue, the door opened and I couldn't see who came in but presumed it was Ash's parents and her mother's voice confirmed it.
"I don't want to interrupt you two but I just wanted to let you know I brought some clothes to change if you're ready to go home."
I felt Ashley nod as the door closed again.
"Lili, I'm going to need you to get up so I can change and leave." I heard her whisper in my ear which made me burry my face deeper into her neck not wanting to let go just yet.
Her chest vibrated a bit as she let a cute chuckle at my actions, and I felt her hands slowly making their way to my sides and I knew exactly what she was going to do.
I jumped up and away from her before she could complete her little devilish scheme and glared at her before leaving the room to let her do her thing.
It wasn't long before we saw Ash come out of the room dressed in a pair of jeans and a plain black T-shirt. She was trying to pat her hair down, but it seems it wasn't cooperating.
"Does anyone have a brush by any chance. I don't wanna go out with my hair looking like I hadn't brushed it in months." Her struggles made me laugh a bit as her mother handed her a brush from her purse.
Ashley stuck her tongue out at me and went back in the room. I followed after her and closed the door behind me.
"Can I brush it for you?" I asked hesitantly, not knowing if she liked anyone doing her hair.
She turned around and smiled at me, handing be the brush.
"Be my guest."
I smiled widely at that, taking it from her hand and made her take a seat on the bed.
As I started to brush her hair, I started to remember when me and my sister used to sit down and do each others hair, it was one of my favorite things to do back then. I loved to just stile her hair and she would always say she liked my designs.
At that thought my hands hesitated a bit before I continued my work. Ash must have noticed as she turned around and looked at me.
"Are you okay?"
I nodded not wanting to worry her with my stuff right now. We're supposed to be happy at the moment.
This girl could read me like a book, because she knew I didn't want to talk about it so she left it alone and let me continue what I was doing in a comfortable silence.
Soon after, I was able to make her hair look decent enough until she can take a shower, and we were off to her house the smiles never leaving our faces.
As soon as we stepped inside, Ash was off to take a well deserved bath, she didn't let me join unfortunately but oh well. After that we had dinner with her parents and it wasn't until then that I realized how tired and hungry I was after the events that happened these past days.
When we were done, Ash suggested taking me home and I more than happily obliged, not wanting to face Cassie alone.
Arriving to my small home, I was surprised at how much noise was coming from inside there, it was not normal and I wondered what was going on.
Normally at this time Ricky would be already half asleep and it would be very quite. Something was not right.
"What's wrong Layla? Why are you not coming out?" I was so lost in thought that I haven't realized that we had already stopped outside the house and Ash was waiting for me.
I opened the car door not saying a word, and I knew she was confused at my behavior but I couldn't focus on anything other than the noise inside. I knew the voices of my family but there was one that I didn't know.
And then I heard it, a voice that sounded too much like mine. But it can't be, it's impossible.
I could hear Ash's concerned voice trying to talk to me but nothing was making sense to me at the moment.
I ran straight to the door of the house and opened it without hesitation. I came face to face with the mirror image of myself just standing there and I was sure my face looked like I had just seen a ghost.
And honestly I think I might have.
