Layla's P.O.V :
We made our way to our cabin when Ashley dropped us off.
"Mommy?" Ricky called me hesitently.
"Yes Rick?"
"Why did you give her the wrong address? Our house is not here." I was afraid he would ask this question.
"Well you see Ricky, I didn't want to be a burden on Ashley." He nodded and went back to his cheerful self skipping in front of me all the way back.
I hated having to lie to him, but I didn't want to tell him that I was afraid that she would never talk to me again if she finds out the truth about me.
"I really like Ashley, she's nice." I heard him say as we approached our small house.
I smiled at him and kissed him on his head as I opened the door. Cassie was waiting inside for us, a worried look on her face.
"Why are you late?" She asked as Ricky went and hugged her.
"Ashley drove us home and we stopped for icecream on the way. It was delicious." Ricky explained excitedly.
When Cassie heard the name her eyes went big. "Who's Ashley Rick?"
"Oh! She's mommy's friend from school." He replied and ran away to play on his bed.
"Layla, explain." She ordered me sternly.
"Well, as he said she's my friend I met at school."
"You made a friend? That's new. How come?" She was pretty shocked.
"She kind of saved me from one of my bullies, so I let her stick around. Plus, since she has been hanging out with me, no one has approached me."
"That's great. But are you sure that's the only reason." She looked at me skeptically.
"Yep." And with that I ended the conversation and sat at the table as Mark came with food.
"Hey guys." He placed the food on the table. "Ricky, come eat."
Ricky came immediately and sat next to me. We ate in silence for a while but Mark decided to brake it.
"How was school guys?"
Ricky was the first one to answer.
"It was awsome. The teacher brought a hamster with her and now we have a pet for our class."
"That's cool little guy, how about you Lay."
I opened my mouth to reply but Cassie was faster.
"She made a friend she likes for once."
"That's new." Like Cassie, Mark was shocked to hear this.
"Who told you I liked her. She just never leaves me alone." I argued, annoyed.
"Oh honey if you didn't like her you would have never let her aproach you." Cassie said.
"Whatever." I was fed up with all of this. "Oh and tomorrow I'm going out with her. She insisted." I added as I saw the huge grin on their faces.
"Told you she liked her." Cassie said to Mark.
I rolled my eyes and got up from the table. "I'm going out." I said, leaving the small house.
I crossed the street and walked for about 5 minutes and arrived to the only place where I could release some steam and stress.
It was an underground fight club, here I was quite famous under the name of "iron fist".
The owner aproached me as soon as I entered and greeted me with a smile.
"Hello Iron fist. How are you doing today?"
"I'm great. Can I have a drink? I really need it."
"Alright. Come with me." He walked me to the bar and told me to sit on a stool. "So you up for a fight today? Someone chalanged you." He asked curiously.
I thought about it for a little while and decided that it was best if I accepted the challenge. I didn't want to ruin my reputation here.

After the fight that luckilly I won, I went to collect my money and went back home to find Cassie still awake, waiting for me.
"Where were you, you're late." She immediately said when I set foot in the house. When she saw me she was shocked when she saw my bottom lip was slit. "Did you fight?"
"Yeah I was at the fighting club. Don't worry it's nothing."
"Did you drink?"
"No." I tried to lie but she knew I was. "Ok I did drink. But only one glass, I swear."
"I'll let it slide right now beacause I'm tired. But please stop drinking. You know it's not good for you." The tiredness was visible in her eyes, as well as sadness.
I nodded although I couldn't stop. And she knew it.
"Cassie." I called out to her. When she turned around I said. "I'm sorry for causing you so much trouble. I knew I shouldn't have stayed with you after her death."
She looked at me with tears in her eyes and came to me and hugged me.
"Don't ever say that again. You know how much we love you. And you're not causing us any trouble. Layla without you Ricky would have been miserable. I wouldn't have anyone to worry about. You're what's keeping us together without you even knowind Layla. Now please can we sleep, I'm exhausted" And she let out a small giggle which made me smile. I was so happy she felt like this.
"Goodnight Cassie, love you."
I heard a muffled goodnight from Cassie beacause her head was already burried in her pillow.
I giggled and went to my bed and as soon as I hit the bed I was out cold.
