A/N: Okay so I'm sort of mixing up events like how she get into the music program and when they ask her to join the band, but I'm kind of stuck. I'm still trying to put everything in here, it just might be at different points. Like I said at the beginning, this follows the same general plot. Plus some of the things between Julie and Flynn would've been weird to add in since Dahlia and Flynn haven't been friends for very long.

"Hey", I said to Flynn as she came over to me. "Hi, Lia. At least you're walking home with me", she joked. I stopped in my tracks.
"Actually, about that. Kayla invited me to go to the movies with Carrie and the others..."
"Oh...o-okay", Flynn replied trying to cover up the fact that she was clearly hurt. "When did you become besties with her and Carrie?"
"Sorry Flynn, but I don't want to get on anyone's bad side. I didn't want to make Kayla feel bad"
"You could've at least asked her if I could come", she replied, a hurt look in her eyes.
"I-I'm sorry Flynn I-"
"It's fine Dahlia. I'll see you tomorrow", she said as she walked off. I knew I shouldn't have said yes. I was Flynn's only friend and this was the second time I'd ditched her. I didn't really want to be in the same room with Carrie again anyway, but Kayla seemed nice. I just wanted to make some more friends. And maybe spite Carrie.
I didn't want Flynn to feel neglected. I needed to apologize. I texted Kayla.
Dahlia: Hey Kayla! Something came up and I can't make it to the movies. Sorry!
Kayla: No worries! Next time then. See you tomorrow.
Great. Now I needed to get home to the guys. I had a plan.

"Guys get your instruments we have work to do!", I exclaimed as soon as I walked in the studio.
"Wait so does this mean you're joining the band?", Luke said while grabbing his guitar.
"Um. We'll talk later.", I replied. "Right now I just need some help."
"Okay, but first can we show you something?", Luke said. I nodded. "Okay so we found this poem that you wrote and Reggie and I, we added this really cool melody to it. It sounds awesome-"
"Where did you find that?", I asked looking at the paper in his hand.
"Uh...definitely not your dream box.", Luke said while pulling Reggie in front of him.
"You went through my stuff?!", I shouted.
"Yeah we can do that now.", Reggie said.
"No! No you can't!", I yelled. "Boundaries, give it back!"
"No!", Luke said. "Hey, you need to realize how insanely talented you are. Okay? Listen to this." He unfolded the paper and started to read. "If somebody hurts you-" I tried grabbing it from him. He yanked it back and looked me in the eyes. "If somebody hurts you I'm gonna get hurt too." He started singing. "And my life my life would be real low, zero, flying solo."
"Hey wait," I said, relaxing. "Oh my god, that's actually what I wanted to do! Flynn and I got in a fight at school today. I remembered writing that poem last year for one of my friends. I thought if we put it to music, I could sing it to Flynn to make up with her."

FanficEver since her mom died, Dahlia hasn't been able to play any music, let alone look at it. Who knew that it would take three dead dudes from a 90s rock band to bring her out of her shell. (I do not own the JATP characters)
